Title: PK'er Excuses Post by Ulterium on 02/17/04 at 19:23:00 I always look at the topics about how people complain about pk'ing and people make mean excuses about how it's fair and good and so on... It usually goes down to players with multiple archies whining when some1 says "i think pk'ing should be contained" or "pk'ing is unfair, and should be monitered to make the game fair". Would you PK supporters please rattle off a few more pitiful, mean, and "it's your problem i killed you for being 10 levels weaker than my superior crit" excuses? It always makes me laugh! :D |

I seem to recall at 1 point you attacking me comming through the forest on my fighter and you were on an expert/adept zerk and a cleric... i logged on a cleric 2 rangers and came back and you said "im not afraid of you i'll take you alone" and then had people come and attack me while i was n of gatehouse... sadly you all failed to get even 1 pk on me before i wrecked your whole party... so "Fear tha floyd" thats a joke in itself... if your gonna act like your good then at least try to be? |

I like the fact that you start a post saying people make excuses for pking....that fact is one of the reasons i like this game. There are plenty of games around that prevent pking or make it bad, Nightmist isnt one of them. I don't see why people always think that just because another game makes it easy for them and keeps the older players at bay, means that nightmist has to do the same, or even should. That's one of the reasons the 10 level rule was added in, to keep newer players from being killed constantly. It wasn't in when i started, and sure i pregnant doged and moaned about the arch masters killing me; however, eventually you get over pregnant doging and moaning and start playing the game. I think you ought to try that rather than complaining on and on, train somewhere else, and maybe pkers won't find you. |

Are we really all that mean? What if this were real life? Would we really be able to kill each other and still be able to live with ourselves? if u say "yes" then you're either a cruel, heartless person, or you're just trying to be funny or cool. Think about it and reflect on whether you would really care so little about those less fortunate than you. This is not real life i guess...but from what i've seen...to some people it is. |

Title: Re: PK'er Excuses Post by Two on 02/21/04 at 01:31:48 here's my quick theory and i'm out: the great thing about this game is the amount of flexibility in it. you can totally get sucked into the rping part of it, while being able to play the game without interactin with another player. on the other hand, you can immerse yourself in the clan drama, and fight all day and night. the whole pking situation was handled quiet delicately and effectiviely by jlh and pandi by supplying both sides of the spectrum. you can play crits that are killing machinces (beserkers, rangers, thieves) as well as crits that are litereally impossible to pk. They also placed guidelines for pking to allow more flexibility, allowing ppl to still kill eachother while allowing the ppl who want no part of it to play on their (to a certain extent). whatever, i'm sure you all are aware of our situation. the point is, love it, hate it, the option to kill folk is there. that's it. leave it at that. if you wish to excercise your right, you're allowed. if you want to be left alone, you were warned, you're given many routes to get around this problem, stop complaining. not everyone can be satisfied, and i believe the majority of the players like things how they are; otherwise there wouldn't be the largest amount of ip's there have ever been. some people bully's, some are assess, some are potatos. the type of person who you are in game/out game is how you deal with this nuts. i'm out. |
