i think there are too many clans maybe making a clan should get harder. like you need atleast 30 ppl and 1 mil gold before you can start the clan or something? and maybe it's not possible to sell your clanhouse cuz then ppl might think before they start making a new clan/clan house

nah, even though they come and go rather quickly some of the funnest times people have are when they're a noob in a noob clan and learning the game with others. atleast that has been my experience in mud type games.

WHAT IS WITH LIMITING CLANS if you wanna make a clan go make it. A clan is a way to be yourself. If you wanted to make an army people could not stop you, if you wanted to make an organization people could not stop you in the setting NM is in. TR would be destroyed by angry mobs if they could. A CLAN IS A WAY A BEING YOURSELF LET THEM BE.

If the clan system was changed there are only really a few realistic ideas.
1. Staffers become chairmans, or their own clan...each staff belongs to a different clan. Then instead of crits being allocated to various clan, they would be sorted via account name, i.e. all my account would be part of Halor's clan. This would have to be balanced as to not overcrowd.
 
2. Race clans - All Elves, all Humans etc. would belong to the same clan. Like they would from a real perspective.
 
The problem with these ideas is that since they are wide numbers on Nightmist, that each clan would have in the region of 2000 crits. This clan chat, and /clan loc, would lag out players immensly.
So I think the clan structure should stay as it is, maybe as JLH see's fit inactive clans, and clan houses could be deleted. How this would be done I have no idea.

Power isnt equal though, but they dont need to do anything besides make more rooms
