Title: Colors ingame
Post by Banned on 11/05/03 at 11:17:29
Sera said you couldnt use colors ingame (the things that staff uses) or you will get banned...so seeing as its very tempting why dont you just make it a staff ability only?

Last time I remember colors being accessable to players was when there was a glitch, making them possible. Back then you were banned if caught using them. Don't know if I'm just "out of it" but I don't think they are possible for non-staff players to use.

Yes they are, just need to know the right command

But it is a bannable offence to use these colors so I suggest not using them unless your willing to get banned.

¬   <-- that and the color letter, is the command

I don't think using colors is really a problem....  but if staff doesn't allow it, then don't use it.  That command could be removed from player usage if its really a problem.  But then again look at Shiny Society.  Only certain players can use them... while others get banned.

Shiny Society has existed for over 2 years.

Point being? With how many members? Only one in it for a long time was Angel. Anyways, so being old gets you specials now besides working for things urself?

Not what you know its who you know.  Angel also has a custom pic.  Maybe you should start complaining about that too Outsider?

I believe Shiny Society was originally created as a clan for JLH and Pandilex. (considering they used to be in it)  The clan has remained quiet for quite some time so why disrupt them?

Because other people are being banned for using the same colors!   ::)

I haven't seen one person in Shiny society use colors in general chat.  The reason it is bannable and not allowed by players is 1. Some players will impersonate staff by using colors. and 2.  It can be used to mimick colors such as the /showstats, thus fooling who you are trading with.  It is also taking advantage of a bug, which is in the ToS.  Its the rules, get over it.

And when the new client comes out this command won't work so the question remains... Why make a issue about this?

Shiny Society is like... ancient.  Nobody talks about that clan.  its just... dead  :-/

Q. Can I use colors in clan/friend chat and on profile (as long  as it's not in general chat)

I'm not saying that it should be aloud in general chat, because you're right about the trade mimicking thing.  But rules should apply to ALL players.

That would count as abuse.. Thus it won't be allowed. And unfortunatly Angel is no ordinary player he is a former staff member. Your argument has no grounds... LET IT DIE!

I thought that it was made so players could use it but on finding they would abuse the feature in the ways Aidon already said, was made illegal. It is due to be removed at the next update anyway for normal players.

i even threw my '¬' key away, but then somebody told me the numpad numbers (but i forgot them now)  lol... AHHHH!!
