now i dont mean to be a whiner but i for one am tired of going in the sewers and being followed by 7 rats.
a mutant rat on average takes me 3 hits to kill at lvl 10 and i have reasonable stats... you cant shake them by moving, all u do is pick up more. with 20 constitution i cant make it to blackthorn without dieing, i suggest that the least u can do is make it so they dont follow u as often and/or as far.
i dont have really high alts to make money so i can by potions to get places.

this is the comment forum so i am commenting, not suggesting, just kinda venting, if you want to do soemthing about it then please shoot, i would be suprised if you did.

also... its more due to there being 5 rats on every square then the same five rats chasing you... i had the same problem when i was new, when i realised you had to go to the furthest city on the map just to level your l11 fighter, was quite a relief when i got to l15 and got a weapon that could actually kill the things.
Oh, and roll a cleric, that helps

i know a LOT of places by heart, i could probably type out the way from the top of sentant mountains to blackthorn, lol, now thats pathetic. but anyhow, you'll get faster as you go on, and you wont even have to worry about them anymore. we all delt with it, we all got past it.

this'd be nice just cause I hate when I lag because of rats, but I never had a problem dying because of them  :-/

i think its pretty cool only make monster like san spiders ect no follow you as much cause its kinda had when like 4 sand spiders and 2scorpions wont leave you alone.

if you have, you must be trying to run multiple alts on a 14k4 modem, actually, there is enough speed in one of those modems (about 1.5Kb/s, which is 1500 letters per second!) to run multiple alts, so i'd say your pc needs upgrading, or reduce the text buffer size.

I understand that is it 5 monsters per square but in the desert?.....3 sand spiders and 2 scorpions....wack dead party of 7... maybe a few less...like 3? just wondering thats all

AFAIK you only have to reduce the follow %age

also... ive noticed my crits lag out and DC as much when running fast round the sewers as when running fast round an empty area of a town... just run slower and keep healed... also if running lots of crits fast use /scroll, this reduces lag at your own end which can help stop dc's
Also, use /afk and never hit random monsters when someone else is leading and running fast

BTW by 'fast' i mean using macros and not stapping every 2 secs to look at the map
