The idea was suggested by someone else nearly a year ago, I think...  the staff rejected the idea then, so it doesn't seem likely that they'll change their minds now.

How would you have it change?  Would it change like real time?  If so... it would suck due to different time zones.  Would it change every hour?  If so... current "lag" problems would be multiplied by about... hmm...  10,000!  What would happen to make it any different anyway?  Whould the monsters change?  Would some shops be closed and new ones open?
 
This idea needs a LOT of work, but even if it could be developed...  I think it would just cause too many problems!

I think his main point, was that areas would become dark (or something like that), and thieves get a 10% assassinate bonus. And as it would seem, that's the only real advantage to the classes.
Possibly if the ideas was developed to make advantages/disadvantages for each of the classes and maybe even races. It could be a good plan. But it'd be alot of work..

Well, Effects of night could be:
 
Divine Light has a greater effect.
Holding/Using a Torch increases Accuracy Slightly
Undead/Nocturnal Monsters slightly Stronger
 
Effects of Day:
 
Divine Light has a weaker effect.
General Accuracy raised slightly
Healing Potential raised slightly
 
Just a few ideas really, nothing special.

The whole idea is easier said than done.  For it to have any "fun aspect" it'd have to be more than just different monsters.  It'd be better to take the route that Nocturnal was onto.  Take note that not every area can be substituted with "night creatures" and only certain areas could make changes and I frankly don't see the advantage of changing monster spawns based on times of day.  But please expand more on what Nocturnal was on about.

well not me but somebody with time and effort cuz i really dont have the time afterall this was only a suggestion what i made when i thought this up ... and this is a comment of that
suggestion so that somebody would do something cuz everyone liked the idea ( well, most of them atleast )

well the main reason night and day was rejected becuse if you set a day and night time thouse in diffrent time zone will be on more during night time and would make things unbalanced for a lot of ppl I play in the us and most the time I play is when its dark in the uk so dunno how u would work that out....

what's the point? just to give a few classes advantages and disadvantages? keep it simple and keep it day all day, none of this night crap for higher assassinates.
