Patience is the key. I am sure any staff who is actually available will handle calls for trades. Sometimes they are just tied up in things though, like working on an area, holding a mosh, or maybe even someone else's trade. Just wait a while and then call again.

Last 3 trades i done (5-stat dwarf, CPA, CR) there were no staff but the people i was trading with trusted me enough to give their stuff first  Also i remember ages ago (yay i got my first expert ) i traded my clerics warhammer for a half-decent l12 mage... in the SDG!!!
I tend to either use /who or log a crappy crit on another computer on another account on another isp and yell like hell to find if staff are on

I'll come when messaged on those also for simple trades. Anything else like theft issues don't contact me on those, wait until you see me/memo me in game.
