I will start off with this
You attempted to smite a Hydra Hatchling but failed and caused 472 points of damage.lvl 18
You attempted to smite a Hydra Hatchling but failed and caused 512 points of damage.lvl 19
I am lvl 20 half orc with 330hp

yeah - you should use the same monster (ie hitting they hydra with a torch is considerably different then hitting another creature)

I think you forgot a few things with your posting of how hard you hit those hydra. One: In the swamps that's not a bad hit when you're using a TORCH. But why not move out of the swamps and use a real weapon and see how quickly your hit power drops. LOL. Two: The swamps are known for fast leveling, power training. Hence why you get such hard hits. Granted yes, the berserkers hit powerfully hard but I do know a level 20 berserker even with a hally wouldn't hit as hard anywhere else in the game as they would with a torch in the swamps. Three: Any hit in the swamps is a poor example of how hard a crit can hit, whether it's a ranger, fighter, thief, or the almighty berserker.
So why don't you try again on how powerful of a hit you can deliver? I know for a fact the berserker is a powerful one. For even my own level 20 berserker one rounded an expert ranger. I don't underestimate the class. Just the power one would try to convince someone that they have when their example comes from a power training area.
