Title: Forgotten Forest
Post by galad on 04/08/03 at 01:08:47
Name: Forgotten Forest

Story: Once inhabited by a fierce company of warriors, the Forgotten Forest is now overrun with bears. The leader of the warriors was said to have boots that gave the wielder the power to unleash such ferocity upon his enemies that no one could match.  There is a rumor that the company of warriors was out hunting when suddenly, a multitude of bears that no one had never seen before attacked the company. It was a bloody battle, but in the end, one lone bear survived. Many druids know him as the Grizzly King. To compare this bear to any other would mean certain death. The Grizzly King now commands the largest beast army ever in the course of history. In fear of ambush, the people of Arilin blocked off the path to the forest and now, many years later, the forest is all but forgotten.

Lvls: 20-30
monsters (in order of strength): black bears, brown bears, grizzly bears, bear guardians, Grizzly King

grizzly bear: The Grizzly Bear stands as tall as a fully grown male human.  The claws on this mighty bear reach out the length of most common daggers.
Attack dmg- 30-40
hp: twice as much as a brown bear.

Bear Guardian: A direct descendant of the Grizzly King, the Bear Guardian looks slightly similar to the fierce Grizzly Bear. The Bear Guardian has claws more then twice all long then the Grizzly’s.
Attack dmg- 40-50
Hp: same as Grizzly Bear

Grizzly King: When on its hind legs, the Grizzly King stands almost 20 feet tall. His claws are as long as your arm and his teeth are sharp enough to puncture the strongest of armors. As you stand there in fear, the King lets out a bloodthirsty roar and charges you.
Attack dmg- 80-100 (with claws) 60-80 (with teeth, cannot be blocked by armor)
Hp: a lot
Summons Grizzly Bears
Drops:
Boots of Might (rare. 1-20 chance of dropping)
Armor: 5
Strength: 1

Descriptions:
Entrance to Forgotten Forest: You see a small opening Down. To the South lies the Arilin Gatehouse.

Forgotten Forest: Far to the South you see the tunnel that you came through. You can go North and South

Grizzly King’s Lair:
You are in the blood-covered lair of the Grizzly King

You see an exit Up but the Grizzly King blocks your path.

The lair is covered in dried blood from the Grizzly King’s opponents. In every corner there is a pile of bones, sending the message that maybe this wasn’t such a good idea.

The descriptions need to be more lengthy.

A community of bears...  Sounds rather uninteresting to me.  A grizzly king...  lol   May be only my opinion, but a bunch of savage animals in a forest is hardly an interesting addition to the realm of NM.

I'd have to vote no for this idea.  Although, it may work as an accompanyment to a larger area that has a better story.

Just my thoughts, take it for what it's worth.

You cant single out an idea due to the realm behind it. If the descrips are good and the consistancy needed to accomplish the development is there why not?

I think maybe a more in depth story would be good.  And as said above maybe add a little more behind it than bears.  Maybe someone who iscontrolling them, etc.  As Stotic stated a little more in-depth descriptions too.  I usually find about 2-3 sentences for enter description and 3-4 for the look around.
