Title: Installed but can't open... Post by Exor on 02/04/04 at 18:37:37 K I downloaded nightmist on my uncles pc.When i install it everything goes ok.I then try to open nightmist and i get an error saying "this program has performed and illegal action, and must close"Ive redownloaded nightmist, and ive reinstalled.Not helping at all.Any idea what I should do? :( |

Post by JLH on 02/06/04 at 21:51:09 click details when the error occurs and tell me the filename that caused the error. dealing with those types of errors is very hard, since it's not an actual vb error, it's a windows one, so i'm not sure where to start really. |

"This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." "If the problem persists, contact the program vendor" Sometimes I can easily close it... and sometimes it'll just stay there.. to where I have to end up rebooting. I'm on Windows 98 as well. |

Post by JLH on 02/08/04 at 19:09:19 for windows 98 start - run - Rsrcmtr.exe what kind of resource leves are free before starting nightmist? ideally, you want at least 50% on all 3 bars. this does not apply to winnt/2k/xp as they do not have a resource system as such. |

The only programs I have running while on Nightmist... is AIM... but, I had logged off of it earlier for awhile... and I was still getting the same thing. It was mainly doing it when I would try to log onto a 3rd crit or so. I know.. I'm not the only one having this problem though.. very frustrating.. when it keeps happening. |

Post by JLH on 02/08/04 at 23:13:24 hmm, odd that the resource meter isn't installed, if you have your win98 cd, you can do add/remove programs, from control panel, then click windows setup at the top, then click system tools and details button, then tick resource meter, and ok your way out, then try it. i think that there is probably low resourses, so that's why you are having a problem, any more than 4 alts on win98 is impressive anyway. |
