before i say anything. yes i did read JLH's announcement. No i don't have Norton Anti-Virus or MSN. I have VirusScan (the one with the little blue shield with a red V in the middle of it) i tried disabling each of the different scans but it still wont work. I am on a company LAN line though and on a company computer. So would the security measures that the company has (that are unchangeable from this comp) be what is causing the problem? I have only been able to connect using the alternet port in that past

also-I have tried disabling VShield completely but that doesnt work either.

company firewall might be blocking port 110, the next client will be out very soon supporting port 500 as the alternate.

yea its the company firewall. when i tried to connect on my comp at home and it still wont work (the connection is through the same company)
