It seems everytime I use an Midi file (Ingame or in Media Player) The SW Synth setting on Volume Control sets itself to maximum, Any ideas what causes this?

(Yes, I have reinstalled and redownloaded etc etc. lol)

nightmist used to do that for wav sounds, turned out to be caused by the bass.dll i started to implement for mod files.
at a guess, i'd say that the volume control in media player is saving somewhere else, and not the windows one, and is overwritting it. you mention in game, i assume you mean nightmist, nightmist does use the media player codec to play it's wav sounds and midi music.
