I can't access any Nightmist web pages using port 8080 (clan member list, Sale pages, etc.) - this pc uses ZoneAlarm; I've tried allowing incoming data on UDP port & TCP ports 8080, but I still get page cannot be displayed.

Anyone know a simple solution?

yeah, for the sake of being thurough I added 110 and 80 (along with 8080) to the allowed incoming for both port types listed above.

Everything else works, the game, the forum (obviously), all nightmist pages, except the ones that use :8080

disable firewall?

I appreciate the effort, but if you don't know the fix, I'm perfectly prepared to wait for someone that does.  I can't disable the firewall, it's not my pc (although I was entrusted with admin. control of the firewall).  I just need to know what needs changed to allow access to the port 8080 site features.

no firewall configs are necessary in zone alarm for 8080 to work, however try it without the firewall and see what happens

i'm not totally sure on zonealarms setup, but i can only assume there is a block rule on port 8080. i don't know how to change/see this offhand, as i don't use it.

I have Zone Alarm.
Did you go into "Program Control" and change it to allow Nightmist to access the internet?

i doubt it's under the nightmist one, it'd be under internet explorer accessing on 8080 somewhere

I put NM on the trusted sites list, so security restictions are virtually non-existant.  And, it does work with Zone Alarm closed.

Zone Alarm Security is set to high, specifically allowing:
Outgoing DNS (UDP port 53) & broadcast/multicast
with options of allowing:
outgoing DHCP (UDP port 67)
incoming & outgoing ping (ICMP echo)
other outgoing & incoming ICMP
in & out IGMP
in & out UDP ports (specify port #) - tried it
in & out TCP ports (specify port #) - tried it

And, the only thing specifically blocked is:
incoming NetBIOS (ports 135,137-9,445)

does this help...?

look under allowed programs, most websites are hosted on port 80 like this forum now, so that is allowed, the realtime stuff is on port 8080, maybe iexplore.exe has some options for that in zonealarm
