Title: Crashing Error
Post by PureMourning on 10/04/03 at 18:25:42
I get this error often while playing, and NM goes down.

"Nightmst has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL. Nightmst will now close."

"Nightmst has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL. Nightmst will now close."

Any help?  :(

I got all my updates except 1 Security Update (won't install after download) and a .Net update.

I also got this error today.
"Nightmist has caused an error in SHLWAPI.DDL"

And whenever I goto the Windows Updates Page I get the MSHTML error and it goes down. (Only when I goto the Windows Updares Page).

If I got Netscape and deleted Internet Explorer could that help?

:(

no idea about netscape, but it sounds like your internet explorer needs reinstalling.

I've experience this problem not only with nightmist but with some other program " ...... has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL.

first option
1. Scan your computer with an Anti-virus program (must have an updated virus definition)
*some virus wont allow u to update your virus definitions, if this happen, just do the second option below*
3. scan hardrive (click auto fix)
2. then Reinstall Windows

if the problem persist,

second option
1. make a backup of all your important files
2. format your hardisk (*IMPORTANT* before u format ur hardisk make sure you got ALL  the drivers u need. e.g. motherboard, video, audio, modem, printer, other peripherals)
3. install windows
4. install drivers in this order

 a. Motherboard
 b. Install Direct X
 c. Video
 d. Audio
 e. Modem
 f. Printer

5. Install Antivirus Program and download/update your virus definitions.
6. Download Nightmist ;p

just tryin to help  ;)

Thanks a lot Undead for input. But, I'll tell you what I've done so far before I got your message.

I have Windows ME. I reinstalled Windows ME again. (Over it) I did this so it could help with Windows errors I've been getting and to put IE 5.5 back on. (I read an article about my SHTML problem that said it's due to the 6.0 Service Pack 1, which I WON'T GET this time).

Before I reinstalled ME back over, I couldn't goto Windows Updates without it crashing. (Which I previously stated). Now, I can since I reinstalled it.

Also, I'm on NM now, so far so good. :)

I'll post if I get any errors again. Thanks.

Good to hear that.  ;D

I also suggest that you change your OS to Win Xp.

I always get that problem with Windows ME, thats why I change my OS back to Win 98 SE when Xp wasn't available. Windows ME always crash and eats up too much resource.

I also did a survey about this with my professors, relatives and friends who Installed ME in their computers, they hated it and went back to Win 98se, and for some that can afford to buy a new OS bought Windows XP.

anyways, just feeding you some additional info

All my problems are back, and whenever I goto WINDOWS XP I get eaten alive by viruses and unabble to get patches.

I have a new plan, I'm going to download the patches for the viruses I get on XP. (Lovsan/Blaster) and save them to a floppy disk. Format, go from FAT32 to NFST then put XP on. Immediatley after installing XP I'm going to put the patches on, which should prevent myself from getting those nasty viruses right when I get online. I'll post later and tell you if my problems are finally fixed or not.

Wish me luck.
