When you attack something with a bow, it says "so-and-so attacked so-and-so with his xx bow for 50 points of damage"
but your not actually attacking with your bow are you, aren't you shooting arrows from your bow? so I think it should be like this:
"so-and-so fired an arrow at so-and-so with his xx bow for 50 points of damage" or something like that.

I have thought about this for a bit and I've come to the conclusion that rangers take their bows and use them as clubs.

This seems to satisfy the logic part of my brain and it keeps me content.

As for flaming arrow...umm...I'll get back to you on that.

Well that would explain why the rangers are in close combat with people with halberds and can be randomly hit by them and not firing over the shoulders of the fighters. WTG Mip I now understand it all.
