Title: Food Packs Post by Tadpole on 01/29/04 at 20:47:25 Since the update with hunger/thirst and all doing more damage, it got me thinking about "what if my crits get hungry while im training" or while at some far area such as chronos or something like that. Well not everyone is goin to bring a druid and since we are limited to 14 spaces of inventory, it would suck to have to waste space to buy food for each crit. So i suggest being able to buy a Food Pack or something of that sort. Food pack taking up only one space of invent but having enough contents to feed multiple crits. As in you click the use button on the Food pack give to another alt and so on..and the food pack will just disappear after all contents were used. Could be sold in supply shop Food Pack (of 5) 100 gold? Food pack (of 10) 200 gold? Anyways just a little suggestion tell me what ya think. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Zephie on 01/29/04 at 21:18:09 This would be great for longer trips where you really can't afford to risk taking another alt, or taking less mana/pots. I like it. Maybe the price should be a little higher though. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Ghost on 01/29/04 at 23:04:56 Maybe like they did with the monsters several of the same inventory could be combined to take up one space like mana x10 or something limitatioins of course but it would be useful or maybe packs or bags? |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Deval on 01/29/04 at 23:12:52 OOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr just make more of the mosters drop meats and such. I mean c'mon, not all the beasts can be that unedible, right? Right?... (Meanwhile, an oasis in the desert wouldn't be such a bad idea either) P.S You should be able to forage in the desert. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Everlast on 01/29/04 at 23:13:53 I like the idea as long as it is food and water packs only...if ppl start wanting mana or pots to be storable i would really think it bad. |

It would not be a waste of space. Opposed to the value of food on journeys before this change, yes it would be a waste of space. But, now that food/drink is actually needed, you may consider filling a whole inventory with them. I'm not flaming you, or calling your idea stupid, it's just that it's not needed. You have kind of overlooked one of the points of hunger/thirst damage being increased. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Everlast on 01/30/04 at 03:54:40 i think CPG did make a good point, but i think the idea of the hunger/thirst hurting more is to keep people from going afk for long periods of time more than it is to force them to have a druid or hold food. Then again, I have been wrong about lots of things in the past. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Deval on 01/30/04 at 03:59:08 Like I said, make more monsters drop more food. They can't all be unedible. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by galad on 01/30/04 at 07:49:53 i agree that to monsters dropping food is a good idea but...most areas that you will be in for a long while dont really have anything edible (sp). like in the desert, i personally wouldnt want to eat a slimy old shriveled up spider. then in the museum, it couldnt apply at all seeing that the scarabs are the only non-boss that is actually living (and by that i mean with blood and all that stuff) then theres arrowheads (stone sandwiches?), modern art scupltures (mmm...paste!) suits of armor. then in the dungeon in dendeye, in the area ive been in its either human or some demon ghost thing. sry if i came off rude. not trying to flame just making a point. ooo p.s. some monsters already drop food :P deer drops deer meat and cinder beasts drop roses |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by galad on 01/30/04 at 07:59:21 i like the idea about food packs and i agree with jen. the price should be higher cuz.... roast beef costs 12. 12*10=120 but... advanced mana crystal costs 200. refills 100 mana. but if you use a pub to completely heal hp and mp, it only costs 100 gold. so lets say your using a cleric with 300 mp. 100 gold to refill in a pub. 600 gold to use 3 adv mana crystals to refill 300 mana. so back to the roast beef 12*6 (cuz it costs 6 times as much to refill mana)=72 so a pack of 10 would cost 720 gold. so then i get to thinking...hmmm why not just have different types of food packs that quench all of the hunger or only part of the hunger. so then like 500 gold for a pack of 10 food that quenches half your hunger and 1200 for a pack of food that quenches all of it? (once again paralleling the cost of mana. cuz regular costs 50, refills 50, adv costs 200 refills 100) |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Pandilex on 01/30/04 at 12:30:51 The idea of inventory increasing items such as bags has been on the to do list since pre-reset, lol. I'm not sure if it will ever be added though. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Oz on 01/31/04 at 02:30:00 I like the idea but, Long trips to where? There is a town on every corner now, if you can't get to it, then you should have though about bringing that extra crit a little more thoroughly. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Oz on 01/31/04 at 05:22:42 Yes, but there are towns close by each of those. Chronos has that small town(the name escapes me atm), Desert has SilverSail, Dungeon has Harbarec, Mt.Sentant has RH(I haven't played there alot so I dunno how big it is) etc.. etc... Maybe to solve the problem, They added to specific areas a set square that had a Vendor? Of course the vendor would charge more then bringing food, but it could resolve a minor problem. EX: You in the middle of the desert, and just feel too lazy to goto SilverSail. There is a vendor selling Fish and Chips, and Water 10 squares away. You goto the vendor and spend 500 gold per crit for a nice quickie meal. (Whereas obviously, if you went to town this would cost you maybe 50gold per crit.) |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by ice_cold on 02/06/04 at 02:40:17 mountain of sentent is humungus, but it has a store on the top...chronos is large, but it has the small village, dessert has silversail...you wanna go on a long trip and not fill up space or pay the extra gold for food and drinks, oh well, your problem right? i think the idea of food packs is rediculous. ive been to just about every area in the game, now that this has been implemented into the game, i guess ill have to bring food and since i got my cleric, im set with water. im not going to wine because food takes up 'extra' spaces it didnt before. in real life you can only carry so much right? well i guess the same applies for nightmist now. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by Silverwizard on 02/06/04 at 19:54:01 There is the stackable items posts so if potions, mana, food and some other small things were stackable it would help. (Just a thought) |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by ice_cold on 02/08/04 at 03:59:27 i think the idea of a caravan moving/sitting around in larger areas is a lot better of an area then 'stackable' items. |

Title: Re: Food Packs Post by JLH on 02/08/04 at 05:39:57 a moving 'caravan' (read npc) can already be done, since monsters support moving and trade interaction. |
