Title: Roller. Post by Sausage on 01/18/04 at 07:03:49 I like to have the roller off my screen when I roll. Just enough so I can see the numbers and keep on rolling. There are several reasons why I do that but I doubt any of you care. Anyway, my point is I don't see why it has to ask you the math questions constantly. Isn't the puporse of it to stop auto-rollers? Well if it asks the question sometime at the beginning and only asks it once, isn't that going to stop the auto-roller? Wait a sec.. Just might have found problem.... If auto-rollers can be started, after the roller is fired up, and you've passed the question... Is this possible or no? (Please no opinions. Let's work on getting a correct informative answer on whether it can be done or not first.) |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by Sausage on 01/18/04 at 07:39:03 The math question.. On the roller.. Make it so it only asks the question once at the beginning... But then I thought that might not work cuz people could just fire up auto-rollers once they answered the question. But since I don't know how auto-rollers work, I don't know if that's possible. So I'm asking is it. Because if it is then this isn't an option. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by Jurian on 01/18/04 at 09:27:03 yes auto rollers can be started after the first math question. at first the math question came after 4 rolls then 1 question every 100 rolls. it got random because auto rollers can still count the amount of rolls and stuff like that. the way it is now autorollers can still be used but it is alot harder. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by Hexagram on 01/18/04 at 18:35:05 Maths questions are pointless now, anyone with the ability to make the auto-roller itself can also bypass them by various means. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by CPG on 01/18/04 at 20:07:25 Really Jurian, if they are going to bother making an auto-roller, they wouldn't just do things the hard way and not edit the client. Leave the questions alone. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by Jurian on 01/18/04 at 20:34:01 actually it's easy to make one. when i worked on mine (which i did not finish) i found an easy way to make one that would still work with the new system but it would just need some more if then else statements :D and why would you edit the client? it ahs no use since the stats are actually rolled on the server. the client just "gets em" from the server. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by CPG on 01/18/04 at 23:28:25 Edit the client so it gets around the math problems. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by JLH on 01/18/04 at 23:47:18 can i assume you have tried this and suceeded? if so, i shall unleash pandilex on your account for a thorough "review". |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by Achelon on 01/19/04 at 00:08:53 Although the client exe can be edited with relative ease to accept any answer as correct, this may not be desirable. If the exe is ever checksummed/CRC'd. You may be stuffed. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by Wolfvirus81 on 01/19/04 at 15:06:59 It's math problems big wooh. There are so so easy are you that F***king lazy to not answer a few math problems? I think JLH should put in Dividing and Decimals and maybe a few word problems. |

Title: Re: Roller. Post by Wolfvirus81 on 01/19/04 at 18:46:58 Math is my best subject. Now I'll have a better reason for rolling crits when the next update comes out. That adding is getting old and boring when I start to roll. I want something a little more than just adding numbers, subtraction and mulitiplication is better then just adding, but why not throw in some basic algebra. |

for humorous value, i'm tempted to add some algebra and maybe some basic integration/differentiation, but i think it'd be a bit silly really. (for those that don't know, integration will tell you the area under a curve (y=x^2 for example), and differentiation will tell you the gradient at any given point on the curve) |
