Title: A use for intel Post by Eiements on 01/11/04 at 09:12:48 ok i was thinking how no other classes besides mage use intel for nething so i had some ideas for what it could be used for since its pretty much pointless: 1. intel could be used for casting healing spells 2. could be used for casting attack spells for (druids and clerics) 3. at archmaster or (any lvl) intell could determine how much exp is loss when getting killed. 3.5 at archmaster only intell could be used to determine how much exp is vamped from other players when killing them, maybe like 2-10% of whats loss could be added to the killing players exp.(might have to be tested to see whats the best rate) 4 intell could be used for lvling, such as say a monsters base exp is 30 if you had (4-9) intel you wouldnt get any exp extra exp from the monster, but if you had say (10-15) ud get an extra 2 base and (16-22) extra 3 base. these are just some ideas id just like for intel to be used somehow. plz tell me how you feel p.s. the reason i didnt put this under sugestions is because alot of people are talking about this and i think its a (common discussion) Note: sorry for the spelling errors i know i made them its late and im dumb. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Jurian on 01/11/04 at 12:07:06 ok now except for this having to be in suggestons i would like to c intel being used on spell casters to change the lvl you need to buy certain spells. if you have really low intell it should take you longer to learn a spell then someoen with high intell. that makes sense right? then wouldn't it make sense if someone with low intel should be a higher lvl to buy a certain spell then someone with high intel? for example if you have perfect int yuo can buy aid at lvl 17 instead of 18 and if it's like 3 below perfect you need to have lvl 19 instead of 18 :D something like that. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Id on 01/11/04 at 15:06:23 why not just put a new proficiency for skill and spell. The more you use it, the higher the proficiency will be...the more effective that spell/skill will be. Make it so int affects how easy/hard it is to go up in proficiency. Kinda like Pots (for you smoker:NO!! Not what you think) if anyone here played it before the game was taken down. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Harky on 01/11/04 at 15:27:46 Idea's 2, 3 and 4 I think are reasonable, I'm not sure about 1 but I really dislike 3.5. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Jurian on 01/11/04 at 15:46:30 the thing with making intel important is to make up something that doesn't make old crits with bad intel useless. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Quarrel on 01/11/04 at 15:52:21 the intel of your Character (crit) should determine its Learning capacity or its abliltiy to learn things is determinded by intel. But its not. what i mean Its like you said Intel should Measure the ammount of Exp you get each hit but it also how well you hit, If you hit the same spot, his Awareness. theres allota uses that fighters need intel for. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Jurian on 01/11/04 at 16:31:26 i don't believe having high intel should give you more exp. ou gain exp from killing alot of things. you don't ahve to be a rocket scientist to be a good boxer or something. maybe intel should affect the lvl of which you can use weapons and armor and spells a bit. cuz i can c how it would take some ppl longer to learn how to fight with a sword or sue a certain spell then other ppl. and i don't think this will affect the current crits with low intel too much. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Aidon on 01/11/04 at 16:43:04 In almost all RPG's I have seen, healing spells/buffs are based off of wisdom, not intelligence, so personally I disagree on #1. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Claw on 01/11/04 at 17:20:16 the thing is, what about the ppl that are arch right now and such? they rolled/trained their crits, assuming that intel didn't mean anything, so if it suddenly started doing something, they would have bad crits. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Eiements on 01/11/04 at 18:03:38 the reason i think number 4 would be the best is that it wouldnt effect archmasters that much and it really wouldnt do nething but better lvling crits. i mean the worse thing that would happen if it was put in is that you wouldnt get ne exp boost. this would also work well cause it really wouldnt change the market on the price of crits. and also as jurian said: see the thing is its not going to make u hit harder or softer its how easy u learn from the combat u were in. and boxers are atleast street smart. on 01/11/04 at 16:31:26, Jurian wrote:

that's why i suggested it could affect the lvl you can use weapons or spells at. if you have really high intel it might be easier for you to use a sword and therefor might be able to use a sword 1 lvl earlier then normal :D |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Everlast on 01/11/04 at 19:56:30 I liked your original idea where they get better exp at all lvls instead of just arch. The one i posted...im sure its somewhere still around here on suggestions. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Matt on 01/11/04 at 22:04:33 I posted an idea a long time ago about Int being used for how much exp needed to level. Someone that is smarter then someone else (int) would be able to learn spells and other things must faster then someone who is stupid.. Just an idea. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Lavalamp And Seito on 01/12/04 at 00:31:48 i actually like the vamping idea, although its not vamping is it? you kill a player, who is more experienced, you are bound to get experience from that? i know this would make pking go thru the roof, and i wouldnt like to see it, but i do think that if you kill someone you should get at least some exp. or even for attacking get some exp.. ust my thoughts :) |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Spekkio on 01/12/04 at 02:10:12 A minor thing that Int should influence: Trap evasion. Yes, dex can provide a way to dodge traps, but if you were smart... wouldn't you just find a quick way to 'avoid' or disarm the trap? (not saying that int should replace dex. just saying it should go along with it in the case of traps) |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Eiements on 01/12/04 at 06:43:18 im glad to see everyone posting their ideas =) im just hoping that int will be added the game somehow as long as its not going to be something major where crits will lose value if they dont have high int |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Oracle on 01/13/04 at 09:13:57 Well if anything that made int more used was added, how do you suggest we make it fair to the people who have already been brought up in a world where intelligence counts for (almost) nothing? They in a sense would become obsolete and that wont happen. I really can't see us letting the whole game re-roll their stats either so any suggestion to how we would have to go about this? |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Eiements on 01/14/04 at 09:25:26 well thats why i think number 4 would work so well because it dosent really effect lvl 30s at all. and it wont hurt a crit at all only better the crit slightly |

|
Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Oracle on 01/15/04 at 00:54:50 That would still mean that someone leveling up with this had an easier job than the people who are already at max level, which isn't fair to them and is really not what we want to achieve. |

Title: Re: A use for intel Post by Everlast on 01/15/04 at 01:47:40 If a crit is already arch then people really shouldn't have a reason to complain about lower crits getting easier lvling jobs, they would be able to get higher exp just as easy also. The point is that intel should matter a little and it doesnt. There is nothing you can do that would be entirly fair, but that doesnt mean a stat should sit there and do nothing. |
