Title: Some kind of warning for deleting crits...
Post by Alicia on 11/17/03 at 14:00:35
Just checking through my crits today... and noticed my l15 mosh crit had vanished... /who = User not found in database. All the gold and eq i had on him has gone too
Cant we have some kind of warning that it is about to happen, so people like me who cant get on net that often and dont remember which crits they have logged recently and which they havnt, dont lose them?

LoL, they arent deleted, just removed from play.  Last i heard JLH was working on an automated system for retrieving them(not sure if its done yet or not).

well this way you wouldnt have to go through any trouble of restoring crits, you could log onto your acct, see a memo, check it, and your work is done, because you just refreshed your log on date

Maybe there could be another colum in the account manager showing days since last log?  That way after like 50 days we could see that the crit has been inactive for a while and log it just to keep it active...

That's a little too much... I think a memo would be sufficient

I always thought that thats why you had the tab 'expires' in your account manager...even if it is for p2p cant you just adjust it...

no automatic deleting has happened yet, the deletion of crits last played in august will happen next time i do an update, and the deletion of crits last played in september will happen at the end of this month. no warning is given, because if you actually needed them, they wouldn't be sat around doing nothing for 2 months, and you can always restore them if you really want (once i let you anyway).

This is why I go through the trouble of logging on all my crits once a month, even the ones I don't play or train at the moment. Granted, it takes a while, but it's worth the trouble.

I learnt my lesson after I lost two crits due to in-activity, once they get two or more memos I log them on, pretty simple really.
