Title: Mumble Suggestion
Post by Medora on 11/03/03 at 00:25:43
Im posting this here as I want to get opinions on this from the players, not just the staff. Dont know if this has been brought up before or not, so Ill give it a go anyway.

It says

Enter the key /mumble key.
That is the correct key, you may now pass.
That is the wrong key, you may not pass.

I think these things should be able to be personalized. Where you can set what it says to prompt you for the mumble, what it says if you have it correct, and what it says if you have it wrong. This idea is for clan houses. Instead of saying, Enter the key /mumble key, you could set it to say something along the lines of "Whisper the proper word to me, and I shall let you pass." Instead of That is the wrong key, you may not pass, "Your words are false, you may not enter." Instead of That is the correct key, you may now pass, "Very well, you may enter here" Now these arent very well thought out examples, but I believe it gets the point across.

Would spice things up a bit, take it from a more command based visual to a more roleplay based visual. I say just for clan houses because if new players came across something as explained above out in the world, they wouldnt know what to do. If they were in a clan, then surely someone would be there to explain it to them. The default of course would be the standard mumble style, if the players didnt feel like customizing it.

Opinions?

I think thats a good idea. I can also see using this system to make it appear as if it's not possible to go a certain direction, but if you mumble the correct password then you actually can go that way.

Nice stuff. I do think it has been noted by JLH already, though.

Just a quick question (This may have been addressed already), but if it is a custom message, newer players may get confused as to what command they are supposed to use. If I were new to the game and got a message like 'Whisper in my ear bla bla bla', I'd be inclined to type '/whisper message', whereas '/mumble message' isn't really indicated anywhere that it would be the correct format. Would custom '/mumble command' be implemented along with this addition?

She said in clan houses only tho deval, so it wouldn't confuse newer players.
