Alright this may be Too much coding, but it was brought to my attention by my g/f. Is there anyway to put a lil map screen in one of the corners that shows you as a lil dot on the corresponding squares? I mean for *Newbs* they have to keep switchin from nightmist to Ie just to look at maps. They dont tell you where you are on that map, granite we all learned to cope with this, and learned our way counting squares, and by certain scenery that looked familiar. Not all areas of course would have this feature, Just main towns (Nm,Arlin,Bt,Rh) and areas inbetween (grassy meadow, Large forest etc.) I dunno lets hear what the nm community has to say.

i have a suggestion for this.  instead of cluttering up the screen, how about making it more realistic, go into supply shops, buy a map for say.... 10 gold, as it will probably be dropped or deleted after coz nobody likes to have things in their inventory, coz we need all the space we have for pots :D

So newbs can go buy maps, and when used from the inventory, a little picture pops up with the map.

ill try and do a screenshot of what i mean...

didnt wanna post this on the forum as its quite big, but take a look and tell me if you would be satisfied with a feature like that, then maybe we can get JLH to implement it  :P

Yah thats cool but it wouldnt tell you where you were on the map. like say when you move the map ur dot on the map moves to the square you moved to. Like i said it might be too much coding, making nm more graphical etc but i think itd be cool. Oh yah did i mention it could be toggled on or off too.

lol, that wont happen, its been brought up too many times and the answer was always a strait no.  however, a pop-up map would be convinient and very easy to implement.  Despite the fact it doesnt tell you where you are, you still get a general idea because the map tells you what the places are. say if u fell in crocs den and didnt know where u were, u would look on the map, see crocs den and hey presto you're outta there lol.

maybe if JLH wont add this i can make a program whith a textbox to add the descrip of that square (few words in yellow) and it spits out the map :D

Was just thinking about this, every game has programs made by players that makes teh game easier....might start making such a thing.

instead of opening a site you'll just run a program next to it and it'll have everything you need.....

Why not have an extra menu on the bar, and when you click on it, it opens it shows only the squares you've BEEN TO.

Or, within a one square radius... Excluding hidden squares of course.

exactly....

gotta admit, the design owns  lol.  see the little 'Map' in the inventory? and the whole map window i just did by hand more or less. (i didnt do the map, you'll find that map on samus's site).

i like this idea could also add a few racial abilities like dwarves would be able to see further underground or something

getting to far into this now lol.  that would require hell of alot more coding.  as for only seeing the squares you've been to, they do that on RoK.  :)
