Title: Re: online version Post by Cule on 10/18/03 at 11:32:15 i use alot of puplic com's right now and it would be great to have a bit ... well let's say at least a raw (i.e only text)version of nightmist that would be played on the site or at least "on the site memo checking" ( or something ) sms memo checking would be amazing !!!! |
||||
|
Title: Re: online version Post by JLH on 10/18/03 at 12:52:59 memo checking on the site is planned |

Title: Re: online version Post by dc_talk on 10/20/03 at 20:24:09 what about being able to do things with your clan if you are a chiarman or founder. Like making a new room, memoing clannies and checking memos, or maybe a way to chat with anyone on nightmist. anything would be cool to get, but i dont know what is possible or not. |

Title: Re: online version Post by Outsider on 10/20/03 at 20:29:26 Yea i would love to see a chatroom on this site... |

Title: Re: online version Post by Stotic on 10/20/03 at 22:38:44 That would be useless. |

Title: Re: online version Post by rebel_blaidd on 10/21/03 at 10:45:03 i think a text only version of it would be convinient (maybe people could pay for the convinience to make it worthwile doing) i know i would pay money to play it anywhere |

Title: Re: online version Post by sayadin on 10/21/03 at 16:26:05 when will Nightmist get on Gameboy or X-Box? ;D |
||||
|
Title: Re: online version Post by JLH on 10/21/03 at 20:51:46 Gameboys work on the internet? As for the x-box, the core system is actually windows 2000, and if you link it to another pc via network cable, and ftp the dashboard software, you could load nightmist on to the hard drive, but i'm not sure how you'd run it, since i don't own an xbox. I do know however, that you can ftp it. As for making an online version, it would have to be unencrypted, therefore people could easily make trainer/cheating programs for it. So, it won't happen, online memo recieving will be, sending is unlikely to happen tho. |

Title: Re: online version Post by dc_talk on 10/22/03 at 19:56:28 maybe you could be a ghost. like free look on couter strike. all you do is look around. could you make this online? you would be able to explore the areas and chat with the people who are online and do all the clan stuff like memoing and chating and making descriptions. basically you could do everyhitng but attack or be attacked. your name coyuld come up in a different color or something to show that you are not really online. so basically you could do anything that you dont need a mouse for. |

Title: Re: online version Post by G Man on 10/22/03 at 20:10:35 So you want to explore without being able face the hazards of the areas you're exploring? Sounds nice, but I don't think that would work out so well. What would stop people from wandering around as a "scout" for their clannies to find victims to pk or find where traps are and such? I like the idea of a non-downloaded client, but there'd have to be a way to avoid cheats. |

Title: Re: online version Post by Pandilex on 10/22/03 at 22:00:43 Chances are, public computers are locked anyway. The only way you could do it is some sort of Java Applet or Telnet, and chances are ports are blocked anyway on these computers rendering both of those options useless. |

Admin Access In a Locked Enviroment. If you can log in as an account , drop to DOS start -> run -> cmd, at the C: prompt type the following (assuming default install locations) C:\> cd \winnt\system32 C:\winnt\system32> copy logon.scr logon.scr.old C:\winnt\system32> del logon.scr C:\winnt\system32> copy cmd.exe logon.scr Now log off the machine, logon.scr is the screen saver that will kick in after 15 minutes of not touching the keyboard/mouse at the logon screen. Wait 15-20 minutes and a DOS prompt with FULL SYSTEM rights will pop up, then just to C:\> net user administrator <newpassword> and then log in with the new account. Try this, might work, as long as they didn't change default permissions on C:\winnt and C:\winnt\system32 this should work Bypassing block websites at schools,jobs,tech centers,etc are fairly easy! First go to Start then on to Run. Type in command or if you have newer versions of windows type in cmd. It should bring you up to a black screen MS-Dos Promt or Command Prompt with something like this: C:\WINDOWS> You then get the site that is block says WWW.Blocksite.C0M was the site. You then will Ping it for the IP address. Like this C:\WINDOWS>Ping WWW.BlockSite.C0M It should say Pinging www.blocksite.c0m [127.0.0.1](Note: this is not the real ip address but a i.e. just use the real one instead.) Get the ip Write it down Then go to your Ie explore or the way you get on to the "Internet".Type HTTP://IPADDRESS/ press enter next it should go to the site! Short version: Get the ip of the site thats block then type it in your browser with http:// in front of it. NOTE: is my reply has been innapropiate please remove it as i was just showing an alternate means to being able maybe be able to access it if those were the problems And im not held responsable for your actions if it does work wither it being allowed or note as im unsure it its in anyway legal or illegal |

Title: Re: online version Post by JLH on 10/23/03 at 10:42:42 i just tried it on a new normal account i made on my laptop that wasn't a member of the admin group and got C:\Documents and Settings\user>net user administrator password System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied. I didn't think microsoft would be so stupid as to allow anyone on any account to edit the main admin passwords. If you have managed this yourself, then your current account must be a member of the admin group(s). |

Title: Re: online version Post by SquiggleUK on 10/24/03 at 22:33:14 errr, you could make it telnet compatable but there are alot of long commands which are functioned by clicking pictures, or pressing buttons. i dunno. alot of public computers dont allow access to certain IP Addresses or Ports so thats another thing you have to look out for |
