Title: Multi-classes Post by sayadin on 10/13/03 at 16:46:58 Maybe we could have a Multi-class crits or class spliters. Like you are training a theif right and you want a fighter to it as well. Well you can have lets say a lvl 3 thief and a llvl 12 fighter all in one class, but once you pick a class for that crit, you can never lvl up his original class.... ex: you have a lvl 5 thief and you want it to become a mage. Well it will cost you to convert to a mage(according to lvl like about 10K per lvl). But as soon as you convert to the Mage class you can no longer train as a thief but you will have its abilities at that lvl. So if its a lvl 5 thief, then it will attack like a lvl 5 theif. I hope that is good in detail and that you readers can understand it. Thank You for you time! -Sayadin |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Aidon on 10/13/03 at 16:56:46 so for 300k I could make an arch paci an arch mage? |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by sayadin on 10/13/03 at 17:14:14 not for pacifists... if you are lvl 30 and you want you class to become another class as well, you would have to pay 300k for that class because of your lvl but when you get that class it will start off as a lvl 1 and have to train him up to lvl 30... and you can't use the other class spells to get him up.. you would have to use that specific class abilities/spells to get it up to lvl... so if you are a lvl 30 mage and want to be a fighter you can train him just by attacking and nothing else... if you use your mage spells you just getting exp for that mage and once you turn red or rdy to lvl (lvl 29 or lower) then you can't lvl. This will save some space in the game and wouldn't have that many crits online. Also there will be an exp bar for both classes showing them how much exp they have for each class. Since you are lvl 30 mage and training your lvl 1 fighter on you, whenever he lvls the only thing that will go up is his lvl. the hp stays, and the mp and so does the stamina.... since there is lvl 30's with alot of gold, i think that if you are at lvl 30 and high in rank you should have to pay more, being that you are already at a great height in the game and we wouldn't like for you to become even greater so... i suggest that maybe the price should judge not only by the lvl, but also by the rank. so if you have a lvl 1 rank. It will be highly expensive. |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Jurian on 10/13/03 at 18:52:11 so i can make my arch zerker with 500 hp into a dwarf ranger with 21 stength and 20 dex (items ofcourse) great lol if this is the idea behind it it's stupid lol. too easy to make way too powerfull crits |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Stotic on 10/13/03 at 19:03:57 I find that multi-classing doesn't work well with the current Nightmist system. |

Ditto lol I was going to suggest multi-classing myself, but not quit as complicated as whats been suggested here. I'd suggest... You would have 2 xp bars, 1 for each class, & the xp u earn from training would be split between the classes, making it harder & longer to gain lvls. Also the split classes would be race specific, like it is now. Like u would be able to have a half-orc mage/fighter, or a halfling mage/pally & so on. |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by sayadin on 10/14/03 at 16:51:29 sorry to confused you. I try to make it simple but I guess I can try to make it even more simpler. You have a lvl 30 zerker with 500hp and its a human of 19 x x 19 x x stats. You multi-class it with a ranger. you pay 300k or more according to whatever and now you have a lvl 30 zerker + a lvl 1 ranger. In order to lvl up the ranger you would have to use his spells /abilities. And since you have a zerker he can't wear armor. He can only use weapons that has both classes on it. for example an Oak Staff. When you get ready to lvl up the ranger to its next lvl all he gets is extra boost in lvl and some experience with his abilities. It would be like having a lvl 1 ranger all over again, except its combine with a zerker. But if you have a lvl 29 and below, Once you multi-class you can no longer lvl up that class it was once before. And you can only multi class with the races only allowed. If you have a human you can multi class with all classes but pacifist. If you have a Dwarf race then you can only multi class with dwarf classes. I hope this helps It does sound a little too powerful for the Nighmist System, but you guys got to remember. Its just a Suggestion. |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Bean on 10/14/03 at 19:18:31 The theory behind this idea has merit, but the way your putting it sayadin is horribly overpowering... This, as your putting it, is not a good idea... Besides, this whole idea you've typed out isnt even true multiclassing anyhow... Poorly thought out idea in my opinion, and now for anyone who does make a good crossclassing suggestion there will be a player/staff bias because they will remember stupid ideas like this... |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Drac on 10/14/03 at 20:18:53 im still horribly confused... it sounds like hes trying to say that after you get it to level 30.. u can pay 300k and make it a level 1 all over again but make it a different class... theres a cheaper process to this.. its called resetting your character.. im sorry but i dont see why anyone would want to pay 300k to lose their archmaster zerker so they could train a ranger to level 30 with an oak staff.. ive read it over and over again.. and this is all im getting out of it :/ |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Jurian on 10/14/03 at 20:36:29 yeah you can have a crit with zerker abilities and another classes abilities. like a zerker with rapid fire :D |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Lich on 10/14/03 at 22:20:15 I had thought about this like old D&D had it. But instead of making crits that you already have at arch into something with it i was thinking make it classes you had to pick before hand fighter thief, Fighter mage, things of that nature,, But make them to where even if they reach arch they are no stronger or weaker than what is already in the game. We dont need any stronger classes and making a weaker one is simply stupid. So make them where they are about the same. that or make them where they are stronger but a whole pain in da aZZ to lvl |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by Bean on 10/15/03 at 03:48:40 First off one reason this is bad is lvl 30 characters should not be able to cross class on the premise they have reached the pinnacle of their achievements and are so deeply imbedded into their chosen path of life they cannot stand to learn another trade. Crossclassing should take place level 20 and below, if it takes place at all. It should weaken the character in key areas, but strengthen it in other areas... Now, also the combined levels of each class should NOT, I repeat NOT pass beyond the lvl 30 set maximum. So you could have a lvl 20 fighter, 10 cleric. NOW, with that in mind, the higher level you have each class, the weaker it will make any crossclassed ideas. For example, a lvl 20 fighter, 10 cleric would have clerical skills equal to that of maybe a druid at best... Very weak clerical skills, but noticable nonetheless. See, now that is a more considerable idea, and I was thinking this Up as I was typing it... ~!Bean!~ |

Title: Re: Multi-classes Post by jadedgothgirl on 10/15/03 at 08:56:49 Your example with the zerker & ranger is flawed, because if the crit can only use weapons that both classes can use then whats the point? zerkers cant use any of the bows (if i'm not mistaken) & some of the ranger abilities can only be used with a bow. It would be over powering crits tho. |
