Title: Semi attribute points Post by CPG on 09/28/03 at 16:56:28 I was thinking the other day of ways to put more variety into characters, and this is what I cam up with. Being able to add or subtract points in certain character statistics. Say you want your Fighter to hit more and harder. You would have to subtract points out of other things to put hose points into, such as dodging or HP gain. Thieves could choose a path more to Assassins or Thieves. It's kind of like classes in classes, heh. So you start out with a normal character. Then you can do a command or whatever and it bring ups a window displaying what skills there are and how many points and so on. Maybe something like this. Damage - | | | | | - - - - - + Blocking - | | | | | - - - - - + Accuracy - | | | | | - - - - - + And so on for each class. It would be best to use bars instead of the actual % and stuff so as to not give them away. The character I modeled would be a normal character, who could then do all his skill editing and whatnot. But the thing is, you can only do it once. I was thinking maybe it could be done again on the site, but for like 250k. |

Title: Re: Semi attribute points Post by Spekkio on 09/28/03 at 21:18:08 I think this is a Great idea to make characters more personalized... This is just a great idea, and I would love to see it. The only thing is... I don't think this would ever happen... :-/ |

Title: Re: Semi attribute points Post by Bean on 09/28/03 at 21:40:21 Why the hell do you feel the need to say that... JLH, and pandilex are the only two people who can say that with any accuracy... So everyone really needs to stop saying it on every new idea suggested.... |

Title: Re: Semi attribute points Post by CPG on 09/28/03 at 23:49:06 The originally planned attribute point system was completely different than this. I'm just suggesting a more personalized character. Attribute points wouls allow you to select from a variety of new abilities and sort of cross classing. This is just improving what you already have (and not improving in some cases). |

Title: Re: Semi attribute points Post by Deval on 10/03/03 at 02:00:05 This idea is essentially the same as the 'Extra Attribute Points' that were a part of pre-reset Nightmist, that were allocated to which statsistic you wanted when rolling a character. I don't imagine they were removed for any fickle reason, and thus, cannot forsee any similar function being implemented. :-/ |

Title: Re: Semi attribute points Post by CPG on 10/03/03 at 03:46:19 They are kind of I guess. From what I understand, you had 6 points to add to whatever. With this, you have to take the bad as well with the good. |
