Sorry if this has been brought up before but, seeing as people think there should be more staff on for trades and small nit pick problems.

For cussing, why couldn't it be coded that whenever certain key words (like the forums) be changed to a different word. (i remember posting and wanting to the say the word c'ocky but it said Turnipy instead.) I'm not very good at programming, but i'm sure it wouldn't be that hard.

For scrolling, why can't each user have a limit (i think thats the right word.) He can only page 10 times in 10 seconds. If he maxes out that 10 times he has to wait 15 seconds before the user can page again. With main chat, it can be 20 messages in 10 seconds (as people like to talk in Star Trek mode and say things in broken english.) The scrolling option would be cancelled out when using commands. For instance macros, or moving...(n, e, s, w/ north,east,south,west) but wouldn't would still pause you from talking if you do the /lick or /hug command.

So i guess what i'm getting at is, it cancels out with moving and attacking/healing commands, and clan chat/friend chat. but emotes it will still prevent you from talking if you use your limit.

ya, they've shot down the idea about sensors in game before...im not sure why, makes sense to me...and i think they could limit #s of pages and normal text someone can say in 10 secons...but then you've have the poor noobs that try to run saying 'm m m m m mmm m mm mm mm m m' and then not being able to run...

Make all the harsh swear words completely sensored...

Ex. Why don't you shut the (but if i hit enter with the next word there it doesn't say anything... like if I type /cast buggerbone/you <- that wouldn't show up at all)

Q. But what if they intergrate a swear word with something else? Like instead of F*** they type F***offyousorrypeiceo... you get the idea.

A. No matter how the word is typed sensor it. Not just around spaces... and I know this can be done, because it is the same way on Diablo II.

it's never been considered just to the easyness of getting around it, then complaints will arise to the line of "you can't ban me for saying p_o_kem_o_n as it's not swearing", which i can't be doing with. or people will say "the filter didn't block it, so it's not swearing". i've even known it to be done in foreign languages...

Then it would be teh same as it is now, JLH could prolly fix scrolling, but this way ppl will swear more cuz theres a filter. And i dont see a lot of swearing nowadays anyway.

for 2 hours straight yesterday I monitored all gae chat and seen no swearing (other than clan chat).

Yea, because we know how many times those words are mentioned...Anyway, I see this as a pain to get the whole filter correct so I don't blame JLH for not wanting to go with it.

There is so many ways to stop so many problems, (ie, Swearing and scrolling) And its the thing people complain about the most.

It may be a pain, but it may not be so annoying to staff/other people who don't want to put up with it?
