Food seems to have the nice purpose of keeping you alive, but how about something else.  How about the higher 'food level' you have (the more food you eat, there will be a restriction) the faster your hp regains.  Mp can be added to if wanted.  I got this idea from K-man's Resting thread.

I'd rather have it that the more u eat the longer it takes for u to get hungry again, cuz now i die like 10 times a day cuz of hunger. Can't be arsed to move.

If you eat as much as most people do, ie. going into the kitchen and having 2309856 of everything, then you would have died. How about there is a limit of eating/drinking 4 items. At 100%, you would regen 4 HP/MP. 75% 3 HP/MP and so on. For berserkers I suppose it would be 8, 6, 4, 2. When getting to 0%, then it would display the hungry/thirsty messages and you would regenerate nothing.

well i'd rather c hunger make you weaker and ake you hit less/slower stam regen and maybe slower hp regen. then food making you stronger then you were.

if hunger makes you weaker, food could bring you back to your normal lvl.

I agree with Jurian. After being hungry for a certain amt of time you should become weaker and start hitting for less and possibly miss more often.

Hehehehe reminds me of an old text-based game called Fantasia Diamond. Sometimes you'd be too weak to pick up food so you could eat it, and hence you'd die.

well ofcourse you are programing gods and figure out something that works better then that game.

but does that mean you are gonna use it or what?

much agreed as it is a pain enough to have to take your alts all they way back to town to get some free food becuse there is no way I'm gona buy food for 9 alts

not sure but jlh will figure it out lol. :D

think it will. also suggested and increase of damage to jlh and we came up with an x^1.3 increase :D

When hungry/thirsty your stamina should go down when you move (like a thief in covert).

maybe no the same rate tho. it would taje forever getting bak into town for food
