Title: Event Ideas (Straight to the Point)
Post by AlecxZeck-P1C on 09/10/03 at 20:49:42
I hear that Staff can hold multiple events whenever they'd like, and I haven't seen one suggested idea be brought into the game, i.e. Hosted by Staff.

There's one event a day-- and it's always a Mosh.

Staff needs to do -something- different.  Isn't too much to ask for.

they do have different events ::)

sometimes trivia contests, or just 1 trivia question, or puzzles.
i dont see what else you want, besides something not to do with trivia

Heres an idea, maybe instead of saying, "we need more events", maybe try thinking one up.  As for holding more than one event at once, I dont know who told you that but being a single person makes it hard for a staff to do more than one thing at a time.  But as I have seen posted and have posted many times before, instead of just saying we need something, think of a solution, chances are if you cannot think of a solution, that might be why it hasnt been done.

Hey its only been 1 week since my last quiz, give me a break.  I havn't "attempted any quests" lately considering I'm finishing up staff work and considering that I'm working 50+ hours this week along with school.

I've thought up 3 events that JLH said could be hosted without extra scripting.  You just don't know what you're talking about.  If you're going to post on my thread, make sure you know what you're talking about, before you do.

And, we've made a Solution-- ONE of the many Staff get off their lazy ^#%.  That, and I suggested a Event Staff-- this would make it so you all can continue to do nothing interactive, and have one person take on the responsibility.

(And I understand -some- Staff have more important things to do.)

Speaking of not knowing what your talking about, how do you know what staff have to do, or what their time usage involves?  I didnt realise you had been following us around and watching what we were doing.  And as not knowing about the 3 events you have thought up, it would be quite hard for anyone to know about them without them being posted, and if they were posted in an earlier thread, maybe a link would have been a wise idea, being that the title of your thread is "event ideas", not "useless talk and blatant accusations about staff."

#1  I assume that Staff are busy, considering that I never see them on-- thus leading me to the conclusion that they're doing something that needs to be done.  I never said I knew where/what they're doing-- once again, you don't know what you're talking about.  As for when you said "we", I don't consider you staff.

#2 I have posted event ideas recently-- so have many other people.  That was the point.

I know what -I'm- talking about.  If I didn't, this thread would be pointless.  Stop posting here with that crap.

Well you seem to be saying that you do know what staff do, and even go as far to say as sitting on a certain part of a "lazy" anatomy.

"Lazy" towards the game, as in interactions towards other players.  I'm sure that they have more important things to do, and I don't blame them-- this is just a game, but people who play the game more often would make better Staff Members than the one's that know more about it.

You totally steered this thread off-topic.  The point was that Staff need to host different events, to make the game more intresting, than having to do the same thing over, and over.. and over again.

So, what do you plan to do about it, Mr. Staffer?

I'd like to see something along the lines of a scavanger hunt.

Start(area 1): you get a hint to where the next place(area 2) is and u must bring something from there(area 1) over to the next spot(area 2) in order to recieve another hint that will take you to the next(area 3).

Just babbled that out, didn't think about it too much to actually fully explain it, but i'm sure you get the basic idea.

I havn't seen an actual quest for awhile. Last one i remember i think was the Witches Hat and Witches Gloves quest.

Don't get me wrong, i do like what we have given to us. But i want something with alittle more adventure, more then killing a box north of Nightmist.

Wehn Jen first became staff, she held an event that was rather enjoyable and entertaining. I don't remember what it was called, but it was a group of events that involved a hunt, a race and a fight. It allowed for about 8-10 people on each team, and there where 2 teams. The prize I believe was a simple badge or something of that sort.

It was said to be a monthly event, but it got lost in all of the hubub and bullnuts this game offers every day.

It would be nice if she could go in her closet, fish it out, dust it off, and run it again. People actually can work together if cercumstances permit it.

Here is another idea that can be fun, but it requiers participation from the players. Let's say you have an extra 10k or so to throw around. Try to contact a staff member and give them a list of items that are requiered for the gold prize. Make it interesting, not just a full inv. of bunny furs either. Then go to a remote area, and wait for the first person to come to you. Hell, you can even say that it has to be a lvl 1 or so, to make it interesting, and see how many times it takes them to get to you without dieing.

Zephie did not want to run the event any more.  It was completely unorganized and was kinda chaotic as I observed.  Pain in the behind basically.

So if at first you don't suceed, quit? Of course when you have an event of that magnitude, there are going to be glitches the first time or two, but overall, that was one of the better events I have seen on my time playing Nightmist. I will admit, the first event was a lil rushed, but was still quite exciting, and I wasn't even in it, I just watched it from behind my wife. I tired to find the link, but it seems the forum has been cleaned up and it no longer goes back as far as it used to, but I do remeber lots of positive feedback. But oh well I guess
