Title: Viewing events such as Triplex Post by Despair on 09/01/03 at 17:44:19 Would it be possible to have a room where you can sit and view Triplex while it takes place . . . Any chat will be only seen in the room your viewing from or it might be better if only clan chat was allowed in the room . . . Any comments/constructive criticism is welcome . . . |

System message from Oracle: Now Page me once to watch the Triplex. Maybe make it so only 15 people can watch and it would maybe even cost 5k to watch. I dunno.. Just depends on how many people would really want to watch it I guess... |

I was thinking of it as you would be on the second floor of the "Triplex Arena" looking down on them. I don't know how it could be done though.. But it really would be cool. Oh wait you said did. >.< Ya, you only need one crit to go in there. You don't want it to get to clogged up with everyone yelling whatever. I dunno... |

Whenever there was a battle (mosh) you could chose to watch it. You couldn't talk to them (you could before it started though) give items, attack them or cast spells on them. It worked out pretty well untill a bug came along which allowed us to attack them :P |

Title: Re: Viewing events such as Triplex Post by dognapot on 09/01/03 at 20:59:14 might as well make it a public room but have it so no one can see or interact with eachother. that way saves you from lag and from missing the fight. in real life everyone is going to stand up and yell at an event and distract you from seeing it, but in nightmist it can be avoided, so why not? |

There isn't a way I could ever make sure people would just view it on a square and not attack/give pots/mana and aid their friends in anyway. Nopk would stop the attacks but how would I know you'd done it and it wouldn't stop you giving items. Keeping people coverted is another problem, sure I can cast invis but it only lasts so long, even if it's longer than the average player, it wouldn't stay for the length of some triplex battles. You basically want the staff's Monitoring command being able to work in the triplex arena that anyone could switch on and watch. Not a way anything can be done without JLH's help so it's out of my hands but cool thoughts :) |

But if possible it be coded so all the txt from the triplex arena be viewed live in another room . . . perhaps a room in Arilin . . . I know this room might end up getting full and could lag people out very easily . . . Maybe make it so only one of your alts per machine/ip be allowed in the room . . . make it no talking/emotes only clan chat or perhaps make it so when you walk in to the room it appears that your on your own . . . no matter whos in there with you ie no other character pics in the room just some random ideas & thoughts :) |
