I don't know, but I think this may be an idea.

They'd have no weapons like pacifists...
For their Level, that would be their Base damage, (At Level 1, they'd have 1 Base Damage, or at Level 26, they'd have 26 Base Damage) and their weapon would be their Bare Hands...
Robes for Armor...
Skills that the staff could easily make up, since they've been really good at making this game...
Hp in range of a Ranger...
Low Mp
5 Stamina at most

I dunno, ppl help me out... If you guys like the idea...

Not a bad idea and someone has already went in depth about them before here, but classes aren't exactly easy to put in the game.  There's a lot of balancing etc. to think about.

Don't know how much you know about monks but....  Monks have awesome Hp (like a berserker) they should have no Mp.  The abilities would be like a rangers.  I would say that Monks wear "No" armor.

Oh.. btw... Sayadin came up with a full form layout for the monk class.  I help him develop it because I've been playing D&D for about 8 years. (and I already know that I have no life... Thank You)

I have many books from D&D that might help with making the class.... not saying it needs to be exactly like D&D, but it can help.

That "awesome hp" would have to be reduced to be balanced in this game.

yah, that why i said to have low Hp because of the zerker, and Mp because in D&D, they have Ki, an Energy for Monks, so they could have techniques related to balence them, because Ranger having infinate Rapid Fire and Stuff makes them overbored, they had to drop accuracy just to balance them...

Hmm..  ok have the hp lower.  Still have No armor and No mana though, but have something like rapid shot (flury of punches or whatever).  So low hp... no armor.... but really hard hitters?  That sound better?   :P

Yah, but wouldn't that make them to good, I say have Mp for things like that because with 30 Bd its makes that kind of move better then Berserking with a BoT, They should have moves like Charkra (Cures little Hp to you and your party), Ki Strike +1 (like normal attack but adds 1 more Bd) and Ki Strike +3 (like normal attack but adds 3 more Bd), but have say Ki Strike +3 take 30mp each use when they can only have say 100-120 at lv 30 with 20 Wisdom at most... I dunno, It could work....

I've always wanted monks to be added to Nightmist and your ideas seem fairly balanced, so I'm all up for adding them. Also, don't monks gain a natural armour class which is based on their wisdom (taking this from IWD2 lol)

hmm you have monks like the old bold guy's in a monestary that pray alot :D and you have monks like the shaolin monks that fight and all.now the way i would like to c it is a combination of the two.

so maybe make ehm have ranger hp, only robes as armor not use weapons or maybe a staff (although shaolin monks are good with many weapons) and give them minor heal.

maybe they could ahve like abilities.
just regular attacks till lvl 7.

lvl 7: high kick (just a regular attack with a bit more damage)
lvl 15: flying kick (like dual shot)
lvl 25: fist of fury (like berserk/rapid fire (not with damage but same attack thing like whatever :d))

maybe even give them a spell to increase their armor a tad bit cuz of the concetration thingy and all that.

just suggestions here. not sure cuz this could make them really strong if not balanced correctly :D

If we all work together, we can maybe come up with a balanced Monk Class, but if i were my idea for the Bd of Monks, Staffs would be too good for them... ;D

dude nothing should ahve a 30 base damage lol that's higher then anything in game lol :D

Which is why they would be good, but they are easily killed, because of less then 300 hp and low armor, so a fighter or Zerker could kill him  in few hits...

maybe maybe but still 30 is alot lol that will make it possible to round a zerker easyly withouth even speling up lol

Jurian, thats only 1 more than BoT.. 1 base won't make much difference, if any. It does seem a little over powered though, maybe after level 5 they gain 1 point of damae, and then 2 at arch? that would mean they'd do 26 (3 less than BoT)

Not a bad idea, but did you think about starting there base damage at 0?  That would give them 29 at arch...  ;D

  It'd be a better class than Pacifist, that's for d**n sure.  And, Monks -would- have MP, don't know what spell they would have, but they -do- use their mentality for stratedgy.  Maybe STR/AGI increasing spells.  Go figure, tho.

yeah well my point kinda is that some bot costs 2 mil and that monks can get that kind of base damage for free :D

i would say 26 would be nice.

well monks are masters of the mind body and spirit a good example of monks is the monk class in final fantasy tacktics like how they utilize pressure points on the body to inflict more damage or utilizing the charkras in order to heal someone also the monks should have some distant attack like psionicists because they have strong minds jus a thought anyhow
