Title: Macros
Post by Minion on 08/20/03 at 04:12:09
Possibly make macros saved server-side instead of client-side for each character.

Just suggesting this idea so if you go to another computer then your usual, your macros will still be with you.

Or..other then that, on the macros window, there would be two options:
- "Save to this computer."
- "Save to server."

Comments/Suggestions?

why save all of the crits to the server (their macros) when it is amazingly easy to type /cast rapid fire/xxxx and so on and so forth for things...it seems like that'd be a whole lot to save to the server w/o any real reason...

Not exactly on topic, but ive been thinking that Macros and saved text files should have there own folder within the NM folder that the game saves them in, it would keep things alot more organised instead of all of them being in the main folder.

Not sure, but if it creates more lag then I'm against it.

Jen brought up in cc today that it would be cool if we could have different sets of macros saved for each crit and you could just select which macros you wanted to use. Especially with healers. Then you could use your pking macros or your training macros :)

I'm confused, but, it doesn't take much.

I just think.. it's a hassle to deal with.. when transferring crits to a different account. I recently switched accounts with all my crits.. and I had to reset the maco's. As long as it's possible to actually save them.. then I'm all for it.

Something I asked for a while ago . . .

It would make it a lot easier if you could give a new crit the same macros as an older crit . . .

for example  on new fighter /set macros "crit name" (crit name being the name of another alt)

this would give your new fighter the same macros as the older one save typing it all out again . . .

(hope that made at least some sence Im really tired sorry if it didn't)

U can do that urself, just go to ur Nightmist folder, and copy/paste the macros, or change the name of the .txt file into the new name of ur crit.

I know this but a 1 line command would make things a lot easier . . . now theres so many alts ingame . . . so many trades take place

I know you can do it that way, but wouldn't it be easier to just type /set macros [alt] and have the client load them for you.

didn't read all replies (tired and lazy nut mainly lazy) but i just create a macro file for my healer and call it sabotage2 (my healer) and when i want diff macros i jsut switch between the current macros and the sabotage 2 macros by renameing the original macro file to sabotage 1 and then renaming sabotage 2 into sabotage :D

works fine and only takes like 15 seconds :D
