Title: Citizenship Post by Stotic on 08/19/03 at 05:18:19 I'm suggesting maybe have an option where a player can select his citizenship. It will say "He/She is a citizen of Arilin" in the player's description. There will be a citizenship button in one of the city's squares. It won't hold much of a purpose as of now, but I think it would be a pretty nifty and easy addition to the roleplaying aspect. In the future I think it could hold more value. Such as you can only have your personal house in the city your a citizen of. (Personal Housing to come eventually(no promises)). Or even we could get more into the role-playing aspect and have city councils, guards, kings, merchants all ran by players for pay. "He/She is a member of Arilin's City Council" or "He/She is a guard in Resthaven." Just thinking it'd be 'something' to do for the elder players who have accomplished everything else. Edit: this goes along nicely with it too on the concept : http://www.nightmist-online.co.uk/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=Suggestions2;action=display;num=1051574733;start= |

Title: Re: Citizenship Post by Argus on 08/19/03 at 07:24:17 With this whole idea you can have guards in which they would have to be more powerful than players who were not from the town trying to kill and steal. I think the "hired" guards should have extra power/armor in his or her own town to protect from intruders or thieves and killers. Maybe these "hired" guards can be payed every so often for the amount of time they spend in the town "protecting" it from these intruders. You could have attackers also....that would go to other towns and be payed to kill people in other towns. Events could be town vs town and the winner would maybe be able to get cheaper pots and mana? Buying pots/mana in your own town should also be cheaper than if you bought it in other towns. A "Town Chat" should also be put in place to be able to communicate through townspeople and guards incase of intruders. Town hunters could also be put in place, these hunters would hunt things for their town to help items/pots/mana become cheaper for townies? Just some ideas to go along with stotic :) |

Title: Re: Citizenship Post by Stotic on 08/19/03 at 18:48:02 One step at a time. I've suggested this before but the staff reply at the time was "Wherever your clan house or local is your town." I don't find that defining enough. Especially when a majority of players have their clan house in Nightmist. Maybe the local button could serve the "citizenship." Localed in Arilin Hunters' then your a cit of Arilin. |

Title: Re: Citizenship Post by Bean on 08/20/03 at 02:57:35 As long as This idea was taken in small steps and not just... jumped into like for example the idea that argus suggested... If you put the part that stotic suggested in, and then have someone fully plan out in complete detail A more advanced version of argus, and stotics ideas. It would make a HUGE roleplaying aspect come into play in the game as well as quests would be much less of a hassle to run after something like this was put in *Both stotics and argus' ideas combined I mean* This would also stem the tide of 'level 30 boredom' as they would be busy 'guarding' or 'attacking' other towns and such. Anyways good idea stotic. |

Title: Re: Citizenship Post by Stotic on 08/20/03 at 04:44:55 Weird, but understanding ways kick booty! Also I intended to have the first paragraph put in immediately. The 2nd paragraph and any afterthought would be implemented over time. |

Title: Re: Citizenship Post by Lurch on 08/20/03 at 04:55:51 If or when this is put in the game would it be possable to be a Citizen of Jahanna? |

Title: Re: Citizenship Post by Stotic on 08/20/03 at 05:01:18 I believe it should be limited to towns that have locals which is basically every town besides Jahanna. Jahanna's a deserted town so I don't see how there could be any civs left. |
