::) I think that the characters picuters like my picture and everyone else's move like you character looks like its breathing. When you get hit you see you character start bleeding and then when you get hit more you start seeing brusies and cuts and etc. When you are almost dead your characters picture looks like he/she is weak.Also something like that cause i think that your picture can show how much health you have left and it lets others see it instead of looking you over all the time to see if you are mortally wounded and if you are in healthy condition. Also when you are in healthy condition your character looks normal and breathing and stuff like that and like i said when you get hit you start bleeding alittle not too much gore. Just to show that you are going down on health and you start to breathing heavier examples of this how i got it was from the forum from peoples pictures on the forum some of them are just standing there and breathing. But you only see the chest to the top of the head like the pictures are now instead this time they are moving like breathing in and out. I think it would be great cause then you could see how much health the person has left just by looking at the persons picture instead of looking him or her over. The monsters could move but it doesnt matter about them I would just like the people to move.

::)  Well I mean that too, but I still think it would be great to have pictures that move dont you. Maybe even all the pictures could move but I defiently want the peoples pictures to move doesnt matter about monsters and pictures that we dont have add some too that would be good.

::)  Yeah It might cause alot of lag but maybe JLH can do something so it wont really cause alot of lag like get something that real help the lagging if it is possible.

when will you ppl understand that pictures do not cause lag? they just need to get downloaded once and then the client shows em to you. and since they are stored on your computer you don't even have to download em.

the thing is that his is not gonna happen cuz i don't c anyone editing the current pics in all different styles you suggested.

i do like the idea but it looks a bit impossible to me to get the pictures made :D

sounds kewl, but also sounds kinda difficult(though i know nothing about coding...). maybe they could make it so that when your life is green ur pic looks healthy and happy. when its orange, your pic has bruises n cuts and angry. and when ur life is red then the pic is bleeding pretty bad and pale as if the person is sick?

but that leaves out the breathing thing you were talking about...

that would be simple he could just make a list of the pics 1 threw what ever and when u install the game u automaticly get 1 threw lets say 20 cus i don't know how many player pics there are so when u log on the client checks with a master server if there has been any pics added after 20 if so u download it and thats that you have it unless u uninstall or reload and reformat or what ever

yeh the pic's dont cause lag .... some said that it does and totally dumbed my idea of weapons and armors with anim...

It isn't by their choice that there are so many 'no pic' items around, I'm sure if anyone artistic was willing to create some images for them they'd be grateful, and of course the artist would get recognition for doing it.

Note: by 'create' I don't mean go to random sites and butcher pics you find.

I've sent in a bunch of images (according to people I've spoke to, not bad looking) to replace -no pics- like 3 times now. They haven't been added nor have I got any answer about what's 'so bad about them'.

I don't know about you guys, but I think a game with bloody pics is not for all ages.  My mom would kill me if she caught me playing a game with blood, she doesn't let me play games like that!  Maybe an OPTION...  I'm quite young.  The hp bar is enough for me!

Personally, I'm still wondering why they haven't just taken Gus on as an artist for the game. I know they keep saying "We're not hiring more staff" but it seems to me that you have no aritsts, therefore...soon...everything will be "No Pic".  Oh joy  :(

Those pictures are great!  Do you plan on doing a slightly?  Maybe a black smudge on them or something?  Also if I'm interpreting what your talking about as far as animation I wouldn't bother with it.

I'm just wondering if the same system will be implimented on bosses too. It would make a difference, seeing you can concentrate on attacking rather then looking them over constantly.

Might be asking too much, but I'm gonna ask anyway.  What about letting players make and send in there own pics?  Completely personalized for one of there crits.  You wouldn't have to find the artist... they would find you.   ;)

To many people would jump to do that. ANd knowing most of the Nightmist population the pictures could possibly be deemed improper. It's a lot of work for the staff to load personalized pictures for the how many thousands of crits on this game that are probably going to need one on that? It's not worth the effort. If u want a personalized pic, do it Jurians way. Donate to the server.

  I brought this up a long time ago, and basically what I was told is, that they were worried about Copyright laws.  It is not illegal to use a picture of someone else's, as long as you're not profiting off of them.  But, since the game is based in the UK, I think there would be legal issues, (Or so JLH made it out to be).  I also suggested personalization of pictures, but can't remember where it ended up, but I remember it got shot down.

  I'm sure they research the character picture, before it is placed on the game..  If that -is- the case.  Once again, not 100% sure on English Law.  English Law..  sounds funny, being American, >,<.

Due to the small amount of staff there isn't a lot of overhead necessary to check copyrights on their pics.  I can tell you that my pic was made by Tienno.

Why would a staffer's custom pic be more likely to be copywrited than a normal game pic? We know our sources as we do with pics for normal players and know what the laws are.

If you started sending in custom pics for us, we wouldn't know where they came from and we do want to keep the general pics in the correct time scale and appropriate to the imaginary world nightmist is.

Yes staff have pics that wouldn't generally be what people look like in this world but we are not like people in this world, we are like gods to the world in a sense and does anyone know what god looks like? Some say he is everything... well I'm a tree and JLH is a penguin!

problem with mort and mod pics....would it cause the slight lag when it changed like when crits go afk from 5 minutes? I know when I'm traveling and 2-3 of my crits go afk it lags me a little, in a fight that could be the end of you

i think that they (makers of the game,JLH ...and others) should do the anim thing eventually ....
but while waiting we should arrange a competition to all who likes to do pic's for the game and the best pic's will be added to the game ... and the pic's u made u should get a fee in game money ( for example 10000k for a pic )  :P
