Title: Evil characters Post by Ice_Cold on 08/04/03 at 05:55:04 I was thinking to myself about how boring this game is becoming to me, everything's always the same, and then I thought of something weird, how much fun it would be to play as a monster. I was thinking that maybe races like Drows, Orcs, Trolls, ect could be brought into the game. I know I would have tons of fun playing an Orc Warrior in the caves and maybe others would too. Ofcourse these characters can't have armor or weapons just what they would originally come with, and you can only be on 1 monster at a time (no characters also) so no crazy training stuff. When the crit dies, you become another of the same type in the same area. |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Stotic on 08/04/03 at 06:56:38 And if people play a monster such as a Sand Viper and runs to outside Arilin and pks and has a friend kill him to collect collected gold. Set some more standards. |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Game Over - SykoNinjaPhreak on 08/04/03 at 07:03:48 yes like they can't leave a certain area....for sand vipes it could be they can't leave the desert. |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Ice_Cold on 08/04/03 at 09:07:49 i figured that would be pretty obvious though...why would a a sand viper be in the meadow? it wouldnt be, all monsters would obviously be restricted to thier areas |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by deSade on 08/04/03 at 10:28:49 RoK has something similar where you get to play a monster and as you get points or whatever you move up in lvl's of monster. Haven't tried it though? Hugh |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Jurian on 08/04/03 at 10:39:12 sounds fun lol but i'm guessing the monsters shouldn't be stronger then they are in game now and shouldn't be able to get gold from kills. or well maybe they can get like 5 levels? but not too many. they shouldn't be able to defeat whole parties :D and ofcrouse you shouldn't be able to play bosses :D |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by deSade on 08/09/03 at 16:29:18 I could see it working that in your account you have 'play monster' button with a points counter. When you select it you get to choose an arena monster within your points range and you are the next monster into the arena. Those fighting in the arena don't know if they are fighting a rp or comp monster. As you play you gain points which allows you access to higher lvl arena monsters. I can't see it working you playing a monster out of the arenas for various reasons mainly the hanging around waiting for some1 to turn up! Additionally by their very nature arena monsters don't last long, so I can see it getting old very quickly? |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Bean on 08/09/03 at 16:35:09 OR Have it so that when you press the button it randomly places you on a monster character, you can level up *auto leveling instead of going to guilds* gain money and so on like a normal player but are restricted to your area and such. When you log off the monster the changes in the monster stay in effect, BUT can be multiplied upon if by some fluke of randomization another player is placed on the exact same monster as you after you log off. This would be VERY interesting to see as monsters would be more realistic, and also It would be interesting to be losing a fight to a demonic soldier or something and when you run it chases you around... Lol Oh, Would you disable natural chat with this? Because I dont think players should be able to understand what bears and snakes are saying :P, But bears and snakes should be able to talk to eachother :D |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Outsider on 08/09/03 at 16:39:18 Lol thats actually both exactly like the addition RoK has, i doubt JLH wants to copy that. |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Bean on 08/09/03 at 23:22:35 Ummm, First of all its not from ROK Rok stole it from everquest, who were the first to do it. And just because its on rok does NOT mean it cant be on this game.... If JLH went by that rule nightmist would hardly exist.... Why you people use that as an excuse so often amazes me.... |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by deSade on 08/10/03 at 02:55:07 I had given credit to RoK in an earlier post. Just hadn't played it and thought that is how it would work.... :-/ The reward would be that when you gained enough points to work your way up through the various monsters you get to play the next boss due to spawn? |
||

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Bean on 08/10/03 at 02:55:58 Like I said last post, RoK got it from EQ... |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by deSade on 08/10/03 at 03:10:00 LOL fair enough! Be pedantic :P Still doesn't answer if its a good idea or not for NM? |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Issy on 08/11/03 at 05:38:14 This is a weird idea, and theres something wrong with it, but i'm to lazy to figure out what it is. |

Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Deval on 08/11/03 at 06:32:00 I personally don't see much point in playing critters, where the only real aim could be is to sh!t people. If levelling and the aquisition of equipment/items does not play a major role, what other reason would there be for it, other than to annoy the crap out of people with incredibly intelligent enemies? |
||
|
Title: Re: Evil characters Post by Bobbity on 08/11/03 at 08:22:28 I doubt most monsters would be incredibly intelligent with some players... |
