Title: Low Lvls at bosses Post by CKY on 07/29/03 at 15:32:21 I don't know about you guys but I think boss squares should take out that 10 lvl thing. I had a low lvl ranger with hands come to the mayor. Fine and dandy, newbs don't bother me if they get the drop from killing it. The thing that bothers me is when they just sit there, and wait til it dies and hopes for this to happen. You rapidly fired at a Mayor Tvarti from your Enchanted Bow for 84 points of damage. Killing it. You got 602 gold pieces. I am not the one you should have feared... A Mayor Tvarti dropped a Museum Key. Milath picked up a Museum Key. Milath left the game. Yes, I had a full inventory. No I do not care to hear you laugh because I got jacked. It happens. But the fact that he wouldn't even be there if there wasn't that little rule makes it even more crappy. So again, the suggestion being that the level 10 nopk rule be lifted at bosses and mini-bosses because they can do stuff like that. |

I don't agree with your suggestion, I admit it may be a problem but what you've suggested would cause more problems than it would solve. |

I believe Oracle and I tried to solve a similar problem like low levels sitting on the square to keep bosses from spawning, but we never did find a way around it that everyone could agree to :-/ Edit: even if this rule was implimented it would not stop a pacifist from snatching the drop when your inventory is full |

Sort of like the /invite alts thing, if your crit has a full inventory it checks your alts for a free spot, and if they are all full, it drops it on the ground? I don't know, I'm just frustrated about little kids like that getting a free 40k. |

I don't think high levels have the right over bosses, just because someones pissed off about them losing 40k. I agree with that part though, it needs to be changed but I don't think that letting them pk n00bs is a valid solution. Edit: CKYs new idea seems good, as does Allieds. |

I don't think the whole square should be, but if it were possible to somehow code it in that if you killed a lvl 19 (say your lvl 30) that lvl 19 would get a no xp loss, but just go back to local. But if you killed a lvl 20, they lose exp. Mainly that's not what you're saying though, you want all low lvls to have a chance at a boss, well they do, but just because they're low lvl and not high does not mean that they should get an invicibility from others. We all had people kill us as newbs at bosses, why can't they? Edit: Jimmy removed his post, so now you can just deal with my unuseful reference to a nonexistant reply. Take that yuppies. |

Some things you just have to deal with I suppose. I don't know if this would help much at all, but maybe certain boss squares should have level caps (i.e. 6-30 only), this way they can be killed. Doesn't help much If your in sarka with only level 27's+ and your level 10 is in nightmist i guess, but its the only thing I can think of :( |

Title: Re: Low Lvls at bosses Post by -Gaddy- on 07/29/03 at 23:04:52 Ya I think that it should also be made so that if you get a drop it stays in your inventory for the next 10 seconds, like, say you're a cleric at the DG and you get the kill and the halberd, then the other people there on high lvl rangers and such rape your crit and you drop the item..thats never any fun. I think items that you just got from drops and stuff should stick to you when you die within 10 seconds of getting the item it doesnt fall from your inventory...say like..it was just now handed to you basically...so if something was just given to you wouldnt you be more likly to keep it than something thats been sitting with you for a while..cause youd have this new thing in your hand... |
