Title: Event Post by Epic on 07/26/03 at 23:59:03 We all know that theres "champs belt mosh" on friday and "triplex" on saturday (sometimes) well i was thinking of maybe an alt dueling event that you'd get an item for a week or something... 1 person vs 1 person 3 alts each...? All crits must be atleast 27+....? Some weeks are precasting some weeks are not precasting...? Just a quick rough idea |

Have this like 8 pm at Sundays GMT? Hopefully JLH can code some nuts together and make it as easy to run as a mosh? :) |

Any staff member willing to spend some time can just make random announcements and hold the event in the normal dueling arena. |

According to the majority of players events like moshes and similar activities create more lag and lag = bad? i am surprised to see people like Deval supporting this idea when they claim using alts doesn't take any skill.. "What one lacks in skill, he makes up for with alts" :P I just don't see a real point to this, alt dueling really doesn't take skill, you just have to be quick at pushing your macro.. and know what spells to cast in what order with your cleric. Other than that this could be done any time just as easy in the challenge arena..i just don't see a difference other than it would be broadcasted to the whole game and someone winning 40 or 50k's not all that wonderful lol. The triplex is good because its challenging with a decent prize. The teams are random so it's fun to see who comes out as the winner, alts duels would be too predictable. But that's just my opinion... you might get lucky and it'll get added who knows. |

Its very hard to stay coordinated with eachother and do it right, on the other hand i would easily beat someone me vs them if they have a lower quality connection just due to me being able to send information quicker. If your dueling fully equipped level 30s 3 vs 3, all with decent stats, it only really depends on who loses a crit first to determin who would win. Epic knows this lol, and it also depends wether a cleric is used or not and when/how/the order of spells you cast. Some people have no clue and that's the main reason they lose. If this idea was added i wouldn't mind but if i'm the one winning after 5 or whatever 3 vs 3 duels i'd rather have another 7-day keeper item similar to triplex amulet rather than just a little gold. Maybe a bracelet or boots +1 str or +1 char and 1ac not something too fancy but something that will be useful and wont replace main items like amulets and gloves. I even like the idea of a ring with just +5ac. Not so bad if it just disappears in 7 days anyway. Making this even more of a used idea would be disallowing level 30's to compete giving other players a chance to win. It just isn't fun when the same person wins 2 or 3 weeks in a row.. and i doubt anyone level 29 and below would bother to join when it would just be a deathwish going against righteous level 30s lol. 2nd and 3rd place runner up is ok i guess, but if you lose you lose it's all square so no real need to give them anything more than the gold they entered with. Oh and being killed off by your own teammates in triplex is rather stupid in my opinion, but no difference because they just disable their team in the long run anyway. Triplex should always be a rule for /nopk party. Killing teammates should disqualify your team. heh |

As for knowing what order to cast yer spells and what not thats all part of the skill needed to win this event as is staying alive during the other persons first attacking round. |
