I was thinking since thieft is on the rise and all that bull to add a toch of help make a sumbit log wich would save the text and upload it to the server now oviously for safty reasons the file shouldn't actluy be saved on the hd it could be done in client it self now where it gose into a folder the name of the file would be a case number wich you would get once you send the saved log wich you would need to write down and contact staff about lettter so what this means is the file is keept by the server and thus evidence of theft could be proved and the files would del after a couple weeks so you would have to be shure and follow up before 2 weeks but any how this would help theft out any one abusing this would be subject to a ban of some sort

if i'm not mistaken all nm activity is logged on the server allready. sometimes theft gets solved by using these logs but if you don't trate with a staffer around nothing will happen. i think staff has better things to do then check logs all day.

just trade with a staffer around and you'll be fine :D

I could see that being abused more ways than 1. Clogging up the server and such.

Fake logs can be made, they can be edited also...i actually found a nightmist log on my compy of a time i talked to medora...

yeah but i think james here means that the logs are saved on the server so you can't edit em :D

things semm pretty set up as they are........ jlh has the server logged, any issues arising outside of the presence of a staff member would be ignored anyway, if its so badjlh etc will help you get to the bottom of it......... just keep a record of the time yourself to help jlh find it is all i would say. and dont bug him, busy man he is!

well the point was instead of staff having to look over heaps of logs you can just send ur log up if there is a problem and the end results would be a bit quicker

But what you're saying is sending the client-side log to the server instead of saving it to .txt first so it cant be edited.. but your system is just as open to editing as the current one since you can still change what your client would send.

As can be seen from some updates JLh works on ways to reduce the amount of useless info on the server. This keeps lag down if I'm not mistaken. The idea is a good one, but I like not having lag so I'm gonna have to say no on this one.
Just go back to what has been preached for ages. Have staff present. There is a trading system being worked on from what I have read in other posts. So lets just stick to what works for now and cross our fingers in hopes that the new trading system works well.

I havent got ripped of so far in my entire time of playing, just lost a hally cuz i lend it too some clannie, grrr. With small amounts, like below 100k i'll trade without staff cuz if u got ripped of it isnt that big a deal.
