Ok, I just read through Despairs's post about Pacifists. I thought that the idea of only allowing 1 pacifist per cpu to be logged on at any one time is a great idea.

After a little while of thinking, I couldnt think up any reason why this couldnt go for every class?

So that is what I'm proposing. It's not an alt rule as such. However, it is a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.

Ok this is how it would work. At present you see many players using for example 1 mage, and 5 thieves. With this idea they would only be the use of at most 8 alts. 1 thief, 1 berseker, 1 cleric, 1 paladin, 1 mage, 1 fighter, 1 druid and finally 1 ranger.

This would limit the amount of alts someone could log on. It would reduce a lot of hit and runs. Teamwork would be promoted. There would be no excuse about not being able to swap equipment, and trading items. There is no bad reason for this. The only thing I could see people arguing against this is because they would lose the power of hit and runs. Also outnumbering people when they go 'pking'. Which is pathetic!

I dont like this idea, i see this doing more harm then much good. This will not take out the tatic of hitting and running fully. If someone wants to they still can use the tatic of hitting and running with this rule or limit.

people who like to take big parties of alts all of the same class aren't going to like this idea . . . I personally like to take several theives training but I do like this idea a lot . . . And I'm sure it would solve more problems than it would cause

If you have a pacifist logged on, you cannot have any other characters logged on at all, regardless of their class.

Yea i share accounts so would i be able to log on a pasafist and then lwt my m8 log on another alt

Wether its supported or not, does -not- matter.
Sharing IS allowed either way.

And wouldn't it done by one crit logged on, that pacifist? Not the Account? otherwise you could have two diff accounts open, and have two on.

So it would surely be IP, so you could still have a friend on-line using your account.

We? You think of yourself with the same 'power' as JLH/Pandilex? d**n, your heads getting bigger every day.

Rich, the problem was networking, where you and someone else share the same IP to connect to the internet. I think the IP is the same anyway.

Didn't think of it that way, and yes, the IP's are exactly the same, but i don't think they are on a network(If they are) I must say, tough.

Considering I get a quite a few account problems that involve stealing, lost pws, etc and they all lead to account sharing. And I have been told not to respond with efficient attention to a sharing situation. This is true with all staff in handling these situations. That makes it plural hence we. I'm sorry for wasting anyone else's time here.

So going by machine ID means if me and my roomate use different computers but are on a network it wont screw one of us over if the other is using a pacifist? Im not big on computer talk so if you could fill me in that'd be cool, ty lol

Just to clear this up, as I am not very knowledgable with networks yet. If it would be a PC tag, would it go off of the Servers tag, or the peer's tag?
