Title: 'Give' button Post by Dwaerkyn on 06/23/03 at 14:47:47 Hi, everybody. Some people's names are so difficult to type. You can shorten them but usually when you give someting to a person you have to type the item name too. My brother (bless him) while looking over my shoulder thought that there should be a 'give' button. Next to the equip buttons would be proper if they were put in. They would work like this. You would click the button. Then you would click an item. This would trigger a message verifying the item that you clicked. e.g. Give boots of time to: Then you would click on the player, then the message would complete itself. And maybe in the 'look around' box area there would be a 'yes' or 'no' button, to make sure that there were no mistakes. While we are on the subject, it might be nice to add an 'invite button', working in much the same way, it would invite people by clicking. Also, the macros now have this '/s playername' command. I thought that if you could make another one, but only a button that you can 'click' on a player with, this might be useful. Anyway, thank you for listening to me. Have a nice day! |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Jurian on 06/23/03 at 18:32:00 hmm /give person item works just fine if you ask me :D more of a hassle to click everything (and i don't know any items that you have to spell out completely) |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Zephie on 06/23/03 at 22:12:12 i think there would be problems with people not 'meaning' to give a specific item to a person, like if someone enters the square at the same time you're giving the person the item and you end up giving it to the other person instead. ever accidently attacked someone because of lag? it would be the same situation. i vote no. :-/ |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by -Gaddy- on 06/23/03 at 22:19:20 I agree with Jen, It'd be nice if there was a way for me to give my crits either mana or pots though...but it isnt hard to type out once then press up then copy it and do it for other crits...maybe if we renamed advanded mana and advanced healing to where they had something diff. like Advanced Healing Potion Large Mana Crystal then the basic ones could be Weak Healing Potion Small Mana Crystal the intermediate could stay the same since there is already a difference...it is just an idea...i suppose most people are used to having it be advanced.. |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Lady_Maha on 06/23/03 at 23:00:36 I agree with Zephie as well. The few occasions that I give someone else an item I can type it out. If I give items or gold to my own crits, the main ones are set on macros (/give Lady_Maha advanced mana crystal, /give Lady_Maha gold). Inviting several crits is easy with /invite all or the new /invite clan, and in my opinion faster than clicking on each individual pic. |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Zephie on 06/23/03 at 23:46:07 must I remind everyone about the time someone withdrew ALL their gold, using the 'withdraw all' button, and lost what was it again? 3 million gold? This just seems really silly for such a simple task like giving someone an item. Is it really that difficult to type /give name item ? I still vote no ;) ps: rich, don't ever spank me again, that's frog territory only. ;) |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Eternyte on 06/23/03 at 23:49:30 *cough* Will *cough* I personally dont see anything wrong with /give xxx item. It's far more simple. Requires less actions, and alsong as you type the full correct name, there is no room for error. I vote no, due to the fact there is no need for this to be added. |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by InsaneNinjaPhreak on 06/24/03 at 00:16:40 I vote no as well, theres nothing saying you have to type out the full persons name, if you did I would of said something earlier, what with two of my crits having fairly long names, this button is not needed. |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by -Gaddy- on 06/24/03 at 04:14:49 Correct me if im wrong, but the gold was given back to him wasnt it? I do think that taking withdraw all out was good, and dont see any reason to add this button "give" sounds like it'd take longer to use the give button than just typing and stuff anyway... |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by DrAgIn on 06/24/03 at 20:48:25 And might i state that some people care to use macros? F1: /give xxx item cant they just type it once and leave it there if they will be using it over and over? |

Pointless to compare this idea to Will's stupidity. There wasn't a 'yes' or 'no' option, so there is no chance that this would happen with this idea. |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Lady_Maha on 06/25/03 at 18:22:44 I simply don't see the advantage of this. With the yes and no button and all the clicking you have to do will take you longer than typing it all out or setting macros for items you give to a specific crit on a regular basis. For comparison: click on give button click on advanced mana crystal click on Lady_Maha click on yes repeat above steps for Sleepy repeat above steps for Ladys_Mage or F12 F11 F10 |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Harath on 06/25/03 at 18:25:57 would be easier for me, but i don't really see that the ideas needed, so i'm staying NEUTRAL! |

Title: Re: 'Give' button Post by Dwaerkyn on 07/02/03 at 23:17:12 Maybe after the yes button a 'repeat button' I thank you all for your opinions, you are all very influential (I am not being sarcastic...) :D |
