Ok this has probably already been said but i dont know

how can you only carry say 10 pots when you can caryy say 10 hallys? it dosent seem to be realistic. Ill probaly add more to this later (when i fugure out how to word it) but in the meantime whats your thoughts

I see what your saying; Think Diablo, a halberd should take up six times the amount of space as a potion etc. So giving items a set number of inventory spaces each I think is what you are trying to sugest.

I don't think this will be popular with the average player as they wont be able to carry as much :P but see what they say :)

Even if they are carrying one, (from a boss drop etc) they are losing large amounts of space that could be pots/mana needed if they are attacked.

i was just using halberds as an example to point out that being quite big and a pot being small yet you can carry the same amount of them as as small bottle eg. a pot

A weight limit would handle this - it could be dependant on strength, making strength actually useful for classes such as mages - although they wouldn't really need it as they don't wear heavy armor, and as such wouldn't be as encumbered as heavy classes.  Bonuses could be added depending on class to even the whole thing out.

Weight systems have been brought up in the past and I believe JLH even considered implementing it at one point, but the simplicity of the current system seems to appeal to players.

I'm all for 'bettering' nightmist for the long run, and i see nothing wrong with the way it is now.. i like how simple the inventories are. It may not be completely rational or realistic but ya gotta remember its only a game not everything has to be like irl.  I could just imagine how difficult it would make things.. like if a mosh starts its going to take me a whole 5 minutes to switch equip just because my crit wont be able to hold everything at once lol.. no ty i say keep it as is  :P

i agree with valeska, the way it is now makes sense and is simple, and on my own thought- if everyone thinks everything needs to be so realistic then why are we playing a game where there is a crystal giant and there are rangers with magical bows and zerkers running naked every....and there is like...chain hosen as the only pair of pants!  Games aren't suppose to be completely realistic..it'd take the fun out of it and make it too complicated
