Title: Stamina Post by Epic on 06/13/03 at 21:47:33 I dont know what happend to the stamina but its all screwed up now...i have watched alot of duels one of them being a archmaster halfing ranger vs a 27 pally and the pally wins everytime now just cause stamina trick cant be utilized anymore....that was the only way if you were outnumbered you could still put up a fight and drop a few people if you timed it correctly...now your just ****ed.... *shrugs* |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Eternyte on 06/14/03 at 09:06:48 Rangers could do it from 4 stam. I'm guessing this was changed because it was a simple flaw in the coding of stamina. Which I can see the point in changing it. However, this flaw in stamina gave an extra level of skill in fighting. Which evidently has disappeared. Now it is basically 'click click click' and hope for the best. In my opinion the new 'changed stamina' has and will promote hit and runs more so than ever before. With my mage I used to have a go at taking on parties as a sole crit. If I tried that now, I would get slaughtered, by even a crew of low level crits. I would have to Beam with 4 stam, and Invis with my last stam, by which time they would have healed. Or I could risk using 5 stam, which rarely kills anything with 12+ wisdom, leaving myself defensless and getting smoked. Also parties were encouraged before, as with more crits in a party, the faster your stamina regenrated (Correct if I'm wrong) so training would be faster. Also bosses take a lot more time, even with large parties. Those who didnt know how to do the trick, would have to learn how to do it. Adding a little bonus to the experienced players. I would suggest changing stamina to what it was before. Some bugs actually aid the games level of enjoyment and skill. These dont unbalance the game. So I personally cant see a problem with it. If there was a major problem with it, can JLH or Pandilex post the reasoning behind it? |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Oracle on 06/14/03 at 11:04:42 afaik, it was an unintensional skill people discovered they could use to their advantage which was not put there for that purpuse, so was removed. |
||
|
Title: Re: Stamina Post by Prophet on 06/14/03 at 11:39:12 Doesn't matter if its 'unintensional' skill or not, it was still a skill -everybody- could learn, it shouldnt have been removed for a 'purpuse'. As Eternyte posted, its just 'click click click' hope for the best. |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Belgarion on 06/15/03 at 00:19:41 I agree, its taken away the little bit of strategy and skill required in a fight/duel. I really hope they change it back to how it was. |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Epic on 06/17/03 at 22:11:47 Pandilex or JLH wanna post on this? |

|
Title: Re: Stamina Post by JLH on 06/18/03 at 03:51:34 the game was not designed with people using more than 6 stamina in mind, therefore as a result of using more, people have more power than we wanted and could pretty much 1 round any other person (except maybe a berserker, unless some extra spells were used). therefore this bug was fixed. |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Epic on 06/18/03 at 06:02:10 Mm well like i stated earlier and many other people have thers no skill in fights anymore really and even tho it prolly doesnt matter theres about 10 people that posted on here thinking it should be changed back...*shrugs* |
||
|
Title: Re: Stamina Post by JLH on 06/18/03 at 12:43:39 that's because they like to be able to kill anyone instantly. |
||

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Epic on 06/18/03 at 22:35:11 Mmm, well i dno...like i said i watched alotta duels between a 27 pally and a 30 ranger and the pally won everytime and back with the old stamina you could deal alot more damage and stand a better chance, not to mention if your outnumbered say...1 vs 3 even you can take out the whole other party and thats nice for people that dont have as many crits as other people or people that just cant run that many due to their comp being to laggy |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Deval on 06/19/03 at 01:59:03 Only reason that paladin is giving you grief, is that staff caved to whineys players complaints, and restored Major Heal/Aid back to its former glory on them. GAAAYYYY. |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by AeonxZeck-P1C on 06/19/03 at 04:05:09 I find this totally hilarious. The same people who are complaining about this stamina run thing. Are the same ones who complain about "newbs" complaining about more important things than this...im sorry...but i find it very funny. |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Epic on 06/19/03 at 04:41:48 Same people that complained about "newbs"?...pls show me what i said about "newbs" or what anyone else that posted on here said about newbs....and as for find something else more important to complain about...i'd say this is up on the list of things to complain about |
||
|
Title: Re: Stamina Post by InsaneNinjaPhreak on 06/19/03 at 08:24:35 is it even truly that important? so what you lost a bug in the system that let you hit more then you normally should be able too, and this takes away the strategy to battle, maybe you should start thinking up ways to oh I don't know..maybe improve the actual strategy of fighting? without exploiting a bug? Just a thought really, I mean wouldn't it make more sense then complaining about a bug, when you could possibly add a little better strategy then that? Ok I've said my piece |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Epic on 06/19/03 at 22:39:31 Yeh well it is sorta important, i've stated a few times that with "the stam trick" you could take on partys where you were outnumbered 3 to 1 and still come out victorious. And lol if/when you find another stratagy that you can battle bigger groups and take a few out pls let me know cause im all ears. |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by InsaneNinjaPhreak on 06/20/03 at 01:13:40 Well obviously I don't care about this issue, so I won't try and think of something for battle strategies since I don't really battle many people anyways, but since you seem to think its important, why don't YOU or any of the others try and think of a new strategy? or something else to be implemented into the game to improve on battles? |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Argus on 06/20/03 at 02:11:57 smart....hey jlh why dont u restore the bug where items were doubled........how about u restore all the bugs? this way the only way u could be good is to cheat? REALLY SMART AINT IT? ::) |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Pile on 06/24/03 at 19:18:25 When I play classes that don’t have an attack that uses all stamina in one go, I always save the last stamina so that I’m prepared to move, invis, or heal should any event arise where quick defensive actions are necessary. However, the new system means that if I utilise that one last stamina at the last minute for a death defying heal, I then effectively lose the 3 stamina in that round. Some people will just say don’t leave that last stamina and then use it at the last minute, but in my eyes this is one of the best strategies that was available. EDIT: don’t think I really made the point I wanted to... It’s a shame to see the stamina changed so that if your not careful you will now lose a whole round worth of stamina just from a stray click, when the alternative was not actually giving more stamina, just two rounds worth in one go. To me the change is more detrimental than the previous alternative, which many players actually perceived it as beneficial to the strategy of the game. |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by James on 06/26/03 at 19:56:36 Ok well let me dig into this first when I play with my thief wich has perf stats, I can go 2 min some times with out being able to move why is that? and it seems to happen alot so the stamna how it is now is flawed I'm not sugesting to make all stamna equal but you can wait a long time just to get your stamna back and if you are dueling you are dead how dose this make since? |

Title: Re: Stamina Post by Pile on 06/26/03 at 21:20:30 The problem with how it works now is that the time duration for the next rounds starts from whenever you last use some stamina. So for a thief that moves covert you are using stamina at regular intervals but not all in one go. Before, your stamina would refill as you were using it to move, but now I imagine this cannot happen because the cycle doesn’t start until you stop using your stamina. Basically, with the new system you are you are not receiving stamina from the subsequent rounds after you have moved. If you keep moving you will probably not get any stamina back until you completely run out and have to wait for it to refresh. I really think this is stuff that could do with being altered. |
