Now there is the /invite clan thing. I believe there should be an /invite clan ally or /invite ally thing too. Same thing could go with /invite friends or something. You can also classify them by colours, /invite green, etc.

A good idea can also be /invite alts. Just to stop from flooding the whole screen with like 20 invites, just invite the charaters that have the same IP as your main or whatever. Something along that line.

Note: I'm not that computer brilliant, so they're just measly suggestions.

I don't see where this is a bad idea. I like the /invite alts best though. It becomes annoying when you sit on a square and someone does /invite all when only intending to party by their lonesome.
