Ok I've thought long and hard about this.

Most players on Nightmist have Crystal Rings. They have 3 armor. When you get married, your supposed to wear a ring to display your affection.

However, with that wedding ring you lose 3 armor. OH NO!!...So what I am proposing?

That there be a new type of wedding ring. Where you could trade a Crystal Ring, and it would be replaced with a wedding ring with 3 armor.

So in effect a Crystal Ring, with a different name. That was you could display your marriage, and have your much loved extra armor?

This type of ring could not be bought from the shops as a Crystal Ring substitue, and only 1 of these rings may be equipped on a character at any one time.

There would need to be some trade in sequence to prevent people from buying a bunch of wedding rings instead of crs. You don't want this to lower the value of crs basicly. It would have to cost more than what the avg. cr sells for to balance things out.(if it were to just sell in a shop with no trade-in sequence)

I'm pretty sure that JLH could somehow program it that you have to trade in an actual crystal ring plus 2k (price of a wedding ring) to get one of those "Crystal Wedding Rings". I like the idea.

It's a lot better than my idea of buying extra fingers to equip another ring. ;)

Since a staff member is meant to actually conduct the marriage. Then why not go a whole step further. i.e.

Staffer: Rings please!
XX gives Staffer Crystal Ring.
XY gives Staffer Crystal Ring.

The Staffer then destroys the Crystal Rings. /create Crystal Wedding Ring/Diamond Ring (whatever) x 2.

/sribe/Crystal Wedding Ring/This ring links XX and XY.
Staffer gives XX Crystal Wedding Ring
/scribe/Crystal Wedding Ring/This ring links XX and XY.
Staffer gives XY Crystal Wedding Ring.

Look over those 2 rings:
This is a Crystal Wedding Ring. (basic desc). This ring links XX and XY.

Then continue with the ceremony. If it's even possible, maybe having an extra stat on the item so only the name XX or XY can equip the item.
Although as I stated before, you could only equip one of these rings at any one time.

Well maybe you could get 1 or 2 commands, if you prove yourself worthy...lol.

Although JLH said he's got a new idea for a NPC, which sounds like it will do all that automatically ;D

wow how bla=onde am i? i never knew that it was -3 armor. lol and umm staff arent always on they were only on for one of my weddings and Halor watched it and changed words to do you promise to love honor and obey Halor.. lol i loved that but the staff thing isnt the best idea. but the trade in thing at the shop..... ok no im rambling ill shut up now

NO hunny, you got it all wrong...lol... the wedding ring itself doesn't affect your armor. BUT...

it takes room on a very valuable finger that you could use to equip a cr, which gives you the 3 armor. Equipping a wedding ring means you can equip one cr less than an unmarried person.
