pretty simple idea when some one dose a /t your-name your name is highlighted as seen here

the reason your pics arent working is because you need to get the adress thingy from the website
right click the image and click on properties then copy and paste the url address

well forget about the pics i think the idea is ok but not really necessary. it would be a nice addition and would make it easier to c to who you said something :D

I think it's unnecessary. Personally, I don't have a problem distinguishing a name. We can't have a bigillion colors in the text.
