Title: Fancy Short Sword

Should be usable by Paladins just because.

That and the fact that they can wield a short sword, but not a more prettyful short sword  :)

Umm no. you get it in SDG, which paladins cant get into.

Then why should fighters and rangers be able to use it than? Since they can't go into the SDG either.

Valens is right. Paladins are the ones using blades and the such, why can't they use a short sword?

in my opinion, everything but berserkers and clerics should be able to use it

Paladins shouldn't praise superficial wealth - why would a Pally want to use one anyway?

the FSS is a prime example of all the new items coming into the game now.... utterly useless.

OK theres 2 identical items that do something (bracelet of honor, barons bracelet) but they still are not as good as items already in the game.

Barons bracelet is not 'utterly useless' as it gives extra armour in a slot that most people have empty.

exactly. just because something isnt useful to you, or you dont know its usefulness (FSS is actually preety useful), doesnt mean its useless. even if something is utterly useless, i.e. rubber knife, wedding ring, short sword....and all those other items, doesnt mean it shouldnt be in the game.

What i dont get is why a ranger can use a fancy short sword but cant use a short sword?

The more diversity in weapons, the more diversity in players we see. If new unique and 'cooky' weapons come out, it give people a chance to make their crit a little different, rather than each and every crit being a replica of another.

Nooooooooo u dont understand what im saying !!!
Barons bracelet and BoH are useful items but they only give +1 armour.
In all the time ive been playing (ive got 1 l30 1 l29 1 l28 1 l27 and quite a few lower experts now) they are the 2 best items ive seen come out (apart from the DR and AoP scrolls).
Before i started there must have been quests with more useful items (BoS, RotW and others) and the bosses made then gave better items (CG - 100% chance of +3 ring, SK - 100% chance of +1 dex gloves, DG - 90% chance of 25 weapon) as opposed to bandit leader (20% chance of useless key) hedgelord (5% chance of +1 bracelet(and bracelets are rarer than rings, and IMO should give better improvements than rings)) .. what im saying is the calibre of items dropped has decreaced.

What is needed is diverse weapons that are actualy comparable or better than currently availible stuff, and either buyable at a decent price (10mill for a CsotW and 750k for featheredboots is not), or as a boss drop such as the bandit leader and HL.  For example, a 18-20 damage +1 dex fighter sword (l25+),  +1 wis cleric bracelets, +2 con theives rings, 22-24 damage non-magical rangerbow, 15-20 damage vampire zerker weapon ect. There is a start (druid hawk talon) but there should be more, and the new towns seem ideal.

And plz dont say these are over powered. There are crits out there with 4 +2 wis rings, +1 dex bracelets, and they hog them like a kangaroo and her new-born. (Kalypso - whatever you offer i can offer more... and i know he wont sell)

Showering people with stat modifyers is absolutely ridiculous. The people hog those items, because they (A) went to a hell of a lot of trouble to complete the quest to get them, or (B) paid an insane amount of cash to get them. And having the ability to purchase these items, is stupid aswell, unless they are priced at an insane price. What you suggest is to totally destroy any trading trends in this game to date.

If heaps of items had stat modifyers, it would totally remove the point of having stat modifying weapons at all, and you may aswell put allocated points put back in when generating a character.

No, newbs and weak players should not have access to these items. What you suggest is self serving and ridiculous.

You only say that coz u dont want any more players to improve.

What i am saying is someone could come into the game now, train 100 perfect arch zerkers (each with BoT) 100 perfect arch rangers 100 perfect arch thieves be able to round any party in the game (including 30 strong tr parties) in one go and by far considered the best player in the game, have chairman alts of top 10 clans, make over 100 mill gold yet may not even get a sniff at a RotW coz only certain players should have them

quests and boss drops are 2 complately, TOTALLY different things.

but i personally do feel, that there is a void in the quest department...hopefully this will change.
