Title: A kind of "Critical Miss"

More like a good parry than anything.

say you attack someone and really fumble the defending player could "counter" by making you hit or stun yourself.

This could be incorporated into the blocking equation

for examle

you roll a 10 sided die

0-2 = you fumble and hurt yourself
3-5 = gets blocked
6+  = gets through

what does everyone else think?

sounds interesting but what amount of damage do you think you should do to yourself? what percentage? and what about spells?

well the damage you do to yourself wouldn't really be that significant, half of the damage you would have done or perhaps even a quarter. strength spells would increase the amount of damage you'd do to yourself, armor spells would negate some damage as normal.

i mean what would you do with attack spells like beam? kinda hard to counter that cuz of bad defence :D

would you make a fizzle do damage to yourself or something?

and like 10% damage of your damage?

I would have thought that would be an advantage of using mages, and as people seem to be complaining about the power of mages, it would make them slightly better.
