I was thinking about this idea a couple days ago, what if we added a class called Centaurs?

Stats:
Str: 20
Int: 17
Dex: 19
Con: 19
Wis: 19
Char: 18

They can only be Fighters, Rangers, or Druids.
I kinda like this idea maybe you could expand on what skills they could have. Maybe an Animal Taming skill???

Yea it would help balance races, everywhere you go you wouldn't see Halfling Rangers like you do now.

I'm not saying that those will be the exact stats, maybe you could tweak them alittle here and there. Rougly, Str would be the highest stat, then Dex, Con, and Wis. Char would come next then Int would be the lowest.

Instead of a new race, why not balance half-elves to be usefull in some respect. Having owned an Arch ranger half-elf, they are severly impared.

this seems like your trying to tailor rangers to your liking. personally think centaurs would have to high of stats for the game. As I know Centaurs from myth, they would have preety good stats, something like 21 18 20 20 18 14, they are really strong, really fast, very inteligent, have good health due to being a half horse, and as well are very fast due to being a horse again. and thats why stts would be too high, they probably could be cutomed to the game i guess.

I'm not trying to favor Rangers in any way. They aren't even my favorite class. I'm just saying that maybe if more Races were added it would make things more interesting because you wouldn't see clones everywhere you go.

I think the races we have are plenty fine, although the race/class restrictions should be lightened. If we went adding new races, especially ones that were like dragons or minitours or something it would completely, in my mind, throw everything out of line. Nice idea though.

i think its a great idea but the stats would be more like,
20 17 22 20 18 17
because they are half horse so they would naturally have more dexterity, they are strong, so they would have strength and high constitution, they would be half-horse so they would be a little low in charisma, and they would be average in wisdom.

who agrees?

A new class is certainly not needed right now, but here are my thoughts on centuars regardless.

Whilst a centaur would naturally have a faster flat out running speed, you'll find that they do not benefit from this in combat, more likely they would have the same dexterity as a human, especially considering they have alot more body mass to haul around, which I would say would give them a dex of 18 and at the most 19, certainly not 22. A higher strength would be appropriate due to their solid build, as would a higher consitution be suitable. Wisdom can be speculated upon, as I am unfamilliar with a centuars affiliation with magic. Wisdom and charisma in my opinion would be very similar to that of a human, charisma certainly is a tricky one, as some may be repulsed by their bi-species nature, whilst others may find it outright dazzling.

In rounding, my opinion of the Centuars stats would be something closer to this.

I'm not sure how close to a dwarfs stats those are, but schme.
