Title: New clan rooms? Post by Tender_Foot on 03/08/03 at 04:00:48 I think the clan houses need a little face lift, maybe this could help out. Bedroom: Bedrooms are deisgnated to 1 person, and is essentially a small vault. Each crit is allowed only 1 bedroom, and can only leave 20 items in the bedroom. Cost: 40k (this keeps halberds, crystal rings, spider gaunts, ect. safe) Stairs: Put on an empty square, this leads up without having to actually go up. when 2 are beside each other, in essence you would be on seconds lvl, and be able to bridge over top of the rest of the clan house without it actually connecting, making a realistic '2nd, 3rd, 4th' lvl. To explain even further. say you have one square, then north you have a stairway, when you go noth you dont have to go up, but you would be 1 square abovethe one south, if you have 1 north of that sqaure, you go north, and your 2 squares up from the first one, without having to go up or down, and allowing for halls and rooms to be underneath of the stairs. Cost: 15k Throne Room: For those of us who would actually like to rule our own Kingdom, or own Castle, this could be made for 1 to be able to be put into a clan house (only 1). When in this square, you would be able to make people Knight Apprentices (leader) and knights (founder) and obviously the chairman would be the King. The way this could be done, is when in the room, you could use a command /apprentice *name* or /knight *name* and obviously /kingdom (where chairmans name would be changed to King). Cost: 75k Praying Room: would essentially be the same as the Sauna, but instead heals of Poison, Hypnotize, hunger, thirst, revives mana and hp. But also your crit(s) would be stuck in deep prayer for a small ammount of time (5-10 seconds?). Cost: 30k Master Bedroom/King's Bedroom: Same as Bedroom but for Chairman/King only. Allows 40 items. 75k Dungeon (this one wont be put in obviously due to the fact it would be abused): When someone breaks the rules of the clan, the Chairman can /imprison *name* and throw the person into a prison cell for 10 minutes. leaving the clan would end this effect and transport the person to Boars Tusk Inn. Cost: 150k Library: You can store and read books, maps, journals, ect in this area. Comes with 10 books, which are only found in clan libraries. Cost: 100k Closet: You can store Armor in this vault like square. Holds 40 items and only 1 is alowed per clan house. Cost: 50k Bathroom: No real use, maybe it can cleanse poisons. It would just be kinda fun to see these in the game. Cost: 10k Formal Dining Room: a meeting room for rank leader+ and doubles as a kitchen. Cost 60k Commands: /Mumbleloc *password* ~~~ Used by Chairman only: locks a certain mumble so cant be changed by founders, and can be changed by Chairman. Cost: Free /grid 58 and grid....78? (obviously could be abused) ~~~ A chariman only command: i forget the exact numbers, but it would be nice if Chairman could change the Blah Blah pages your from *(*), like in mine I would change it to Tranvert pages your from Daru Aven Castle (Marble Hallway). Cost: 10k per square, 1 time set. /Directionblock ~~~ Chairman only: When going in a direction, you could make it say something else, i.e. when going in my hallway south, i would put 'The marble wall is smooth and cold to the touch. Cost: Free [dir] ~~~ founder+ : put before a word that is uppercase....hmmm, like when saying 'down the hallway' the down is green and D is uppercase, instead if you put [dir] infront it would make it so that it would be ignored as a direction. command ended by [/dir]. Cost: Free /wall *direction* ~~~ Chariman only: For those of us who hate it when rooms connect, and you dont want them to. i.e. if bathrrom was put in, you could have a kitchen next to it, without having a whoile sqaure inbetween them. A max of 3 can be put into 1 room. Cost: 5k per wall /delete ~~~ Deletes whatever is in the square, walls, direction detail, the room (pub, saune, stairway), everything but the actual square. Cost: 20k |

Most of those things on the list seem to be a type of vault. If you want original rooms use your imagination and create it with text! |

Post by Og on 03/08/03 at 20:44:05 i have never understood the vault problem. this subject is very simple. if you do not have your own clan and have a founders vault. roll a junk crit to hold items. i mean c'mon now. bedrooms in a clan house. do you know how many more squares would be created to do this. i dont think taking 3 minutes to log on and switch items to a FREE crit is too much to ask over paying 40k just to store items. :-X |

Also I really really really approve of the chairman mumble. It would stop founders from getting into rooms by changing the mumbles then ripping you off of whatever you had inside there. |

I really think we should be allowed to put in direction messages (/wall in the above examples). Something like "/direction w A wall blocks your passage." I don't believe there should be a charge for it, as it is just another option for the description. And creating a room in the direction that has a message should just remove the message (or some other way to easily remove them as houses are expanded). |

Because clan creatures can't be placed on grids that do not have a room designation, there should be a switch/setting that the staff member can change when adding a creature so you don't have to put in a worthless/redundant room. Example: The DH clan house has a torture chamber. It is a torture chamber because that is what the description says it is. However, we would not be able to have a Lifeles Soldier put in for atmosphere because it is just a grid without a room. Why would we turn it into a kitchen/sauna/vault/pub/whatever (none of which would make sense in a torture chamber)? You shouldn't have to ruin the atmosphere in the process of trying to improve it... |
