lookin to roll me a ranger and i wanna know what the best race is

Humans or Halflings would be the best. Humans for their higher str, con and wis. Halfling for their superior dex.

Elves are alright, but a Human or Halfling functions better.

I like human rangers. The extra hp and damage is nice. You can easily fix the dex with the right equipment. The extra wis adds a little extra spell protection, which is nice if PvP. I don't see why anyone would play an elf ranger, unless they like the extra char; humans and halflings are so much better.

Most people can't get 24 dext. 21 + 1 (Spider Gauntlets) + 1 (Amulet of Hermes) = 23. Unless someone has a Bracelet of Speed, or some other rare items then they can't get 24. Some people also have Boots of Time for the extra armour and wis, which would also knock the dext down by one.

Feathered Boots are perfect when you're just going around and steal from people and monsters. Having no intentions on staying around and getting hit. :D
