I would like to have another room name in my clan house other than "<Clan name> clan house".  I think it would be a good comand to have, so that I can change a clan house room's name to "<clan room><room name, set by a founder/chairman>".

Plz let me know what you think, and JLH, tell me plz if you know if this would be posible, and if it's a good idea, or not, and why.

..people abuse the ablitiy to page, memo, yell, and talk in general chat...why couldnt they be punished for naming rooms inapproriotly?  Just give chairman a warning if they've got messy names and ban them if they do not change the room name to something for all ages....people would just have to see it for it to be punished, but i could see it working just like how Jen must've been checking away messages or something cause Chase had a bad word on his and she warned him to change it...and that seemed to work just fine, couldnt the room's names be handeled them same?

  Again, this can easily be done with the description command, if you know how to phrase it correctly.

(As for abusing the clan rooms-- If you think that there is something too vulgar for your eyes in the clan-- leave the clan.  If you complain to staff about something vulgar, there's almost a 99.96% chance you'll be kicked from the clan, anyway.  I've went through this, myself.)

If people abuse it then have the chairperson repremand them. If it was the chairperson who did it then it's that persons clan. I think they should be able to do as they wish with there clan. Within reason. And naming rooms seems perfectly within reason to me.

Only way to check authencity is by logs which JLH only has access too.  I doubt he wants to do all this "research."

Stotic, thats what the forward command is for. It tells you their location, so you'll know that the person did in fact page them from their clan house with the insulting name.

Well, I like it... but then again, it is my idea... so, that dosen't count for much, but anyways... I enjoy the idea of having my clan rooms be named correctly... and i don't want to have to make my clannies read the hole text of where they are in the clan house, to know "Where they are in the clan house".  And, it would add some more "personality" to the room...

I don't see too much abuse happening, if only chairman and founders can edit room names. It would be just as easy to make vulgar crit names to page people and then rename the crit (keeping it low lvl to get the name change free), yet it isn't seen too often.

Being able to rename clan rooms gives a clan house more personality, and I like the idea.

...or instead of making it customizable just make it so that the room is called whatever the room is.

eg. you have a sex change shop, in pages it would say:
StupidMonkey Pages you from his clan's Sex Change Shop: wheee im a boygirl

And when you enter the room it would say
Sex Change Shop: grow something or lose something blah blah

well simply limite the amount of times it can be done say 1 time a day and of course only founders/chairmain/chairwoman can change it thus making it so if they do decide to be stupid and abuse it staff can easly find out and take aproprite actoin..

1 making a list of names to chose from
2 making a /sumbit (room name)
  • This makes for a long wait time it would be a aproved by staff thing and should be a taken in order recived wich means a bit more work for the staff but say when they come on they can do a list of commands to bring up the list of reqested room name chages and aprove or not aprove of the name wich makes this idea way to complactated

I disagree... what if sombody changes it to a "dirty" clan room name... It would be stuck like that for 1 day...

Yes... however, this would make more work for the sysop's... and that would not be good... you see, they don't like having "unneeded" work to do... (I woulden't either)  So, I would disagree with this on the bias that the sysops would not like that at all...

Now, if JLH could make a program automatically counts out rooms that have "innapropriate" language in it...

I agree with something Sullen said.  
A drop box would be sufficient. Could start out with the basics such as Kitchen, Pub, Bank, Vault, etc. and eventually if players thought of a good enough name to add they could submit it to JLH who could place it in the drop box if he thought it appropriate and useful enough.

Edit: Not so much a drop box but more of a list like the current rooms are set up. You could view the list from the Estate Agent. Then in the house, you could type /room name # where the # corresponds to the Name that you would like from the list of approved generic names.

thank u for repeating what I said I belive I said in my previous post that it would make alot of work for staff, wich u are right isn't nessacrly a good thing... and as far as the durty name being stuck for 1 day if a founder decided to do such a thing it should be stuck there till the chairman removes it so maybe a limit on # of times a founder can change it to discurage stupidity like my spelling???
