All depends how much of a noob you are.

If you're good enough, there's a pretty penny to be made in the Forest.

Otherwise, when I was a wee lad, I used to venture into the Sewers with a couple of mates.

Ooor.. If you don't care at all for the EXP, and can kill em quick. Orcs provide a few golden coins each.

Fastest money is in the sewers and in the spider caves.

i trained (when i was a n00b) in the sewers first (lvl 1-5) and after that i trained in BT (but i didnt know the way ;D)

ive found best 5 monsters for making money is:

1) Dendeya
2) Museum 2nd floor
3) Desert
4) Museum 4th floor
5) Sentant mountain base

Even better... 3 best ways to earn money:

1) Kill boss monsters sell items
2) PK ( or cleric/steal ) gold parties
3) Kill monsters for gold (see above)

As for killing monsters (amount of gold drop is worth):

Monsters who only spawn once a day but almost always drop, and are easy to get to:
Crystal Giant (south NM) - 175-225k
Spider General (east BT) - 225-300k
Demonic General (south arilin) - 75-135k

Monsters which are usually present but drop rarely and are easy to get to:
Hedge Lord (west dendeya) - 500-900k
Aet Thol (down fron BT church) - 50-400k
Malok (RH thief guild) - 700k-1.5 mill

Monsters which are usually present drop almost always but are hard to get to:
Giant Chameleon (south NM) - 200-500k
Lyzanthir the Enchanter (north BT) - 75-200k
Boots of Time (chronos, final drop) - 200-800k

Monsters which are usually present rarly drop and are hard to get to
Time Knight (start of chronos temple) - 1.5 to 3 mill

I can't believe no-one has mentioned grassy path yet!! I remember back in the day when me and my bro used to go down there every day :D small snakes are great, especially with the good old halfling fighters :D AND they're soo much better exp than rats!
