Im new and would like to know the BEST stats for each class.
What i mean by this, and i allready know what perf stats would be, what i mean is which stats are the most important and why for each class. For example, people say that a Cleric has to have awesome wisdom. Ok I know this, but why, what does wis do for a cleric? What does st do for a cleric? See what i mean? I know this could end up being a long post by whoever answers, but I would appreciate the help alot.
The main classes im looking at are Fighters, Clerics and Theifs.
Any help would be great! Thanks!

Once you know what each stat does, you just got to apply it to the class.. Here:

STR: Determines how hard you hit things, is all.
INT: Only used for Mages, determines their fizzle rate.
DEX: Determines how often you'll be hit, and how often you hit things..
CON: Determines how much HP you'll gain at each level up, also determines (as I've heard..) how well you can travel while Covert, as a thief.
WIS: Determines how much MP you'll gain at level up. Determines how well you'll resist spells. And also, used as part of the sums in how much certain Cleric spells work for.
CHAR: The least important of any stats, unless you want a good Ranger. Determines what you look like (Sexy - Ugly). Determines how much you'll get healed by (Only changes by a few HP). And finally, Rangers use it for Hypno on other people, which prevents them from hitting, well, it dramaticly reduces the chances..

Sorry, concerning what you want for those three classes.

Fighter: Str, Dex, Con and Wis is what i go for.
Cleric: I go for good Dex, Con and Wis.
Thief: Same as the fighter.

you mean intel is used by mages to determine their damage :D

I never knew that :-/ JLH always said Int was only used to determine fizzle rate.. But then i was wondering what determined the power of spells :P

Umm Cons, as ive noticed, does determine how well you can travel covertly, a thief with higher cons will lose less stam walking covert, and is less likely to be seen entering the room, or maybe that is just the very small lvl diff. in my thieves showing...

Clerics- i saw a post by JLH, a characters char slightly determines how well they are healed, a clerics char slightly determines how well they heal monsters, in other words, get your cleric with high charisma if ya can, simply because it will be faster to train.
